Race licence - dont need a road licence, costs about 80/90 quid all in - would then allow you to do trackdays.

No. Totally different and seperate thing.

Look into ACU licence, teh google. Have a gander in the racing section for more info.

Stand by your sentiments, if you dont want anything barring some quality time with the missus then stand by it...

I'm exactly the same, didn't do anything for my 18th, i'm now 20, 21 in June... and i'm still not wanting anything but my other half...

Everyone else thinks i'm weird...

Although my 21st is a distant memory, these days I'm not interested in obtaining birthday/xmas gifts of any sort. This puts you in the awkward quandary of offending people because you don't want them to buy anything for you, its a bit stupid.

I frequently find myself having the most ridiculous conversations with people, its like they're not buying a gift for my benefit but for their own.

It boils down to people feeling needed. If you're in a relationship, its not really about them buying you a gift to that'll put a smile on your face, its more about them wanting to feel worthy and needed. Let your respective partners buy you whatever they want, just be sure to look ineffably happy when its presented to you.

I've got this going on with a female at work. Its like we're married or something, god help me if I show even the merest hint of indifference to any idea (and I do mean any) because the shit really hits the fan.

I can understand this within a relationship where the sex (ok; and possibly the companionship) off-sets the irritating cloying need for constant affirmation, but we're certainly not shagging so its all bad.

Where, I ask you, is the justice in that?

Wink

I completely agree with what you have written there, and it makes complete sense... i often end up working myself into some form emotional stalemate trying to decide whether to stick up for myself or to let them have their way and trawl the Argos catalog for something that would be useful but doesn't cost that much... at least if it doesn't cost much then i get some sense of contentment knowing that what they have bought me hasn't bankrupted them in the process...
