Help!! What Tyres ZX6R...

Hi.

I own a ZX6R (55 plate) and i am looking for new tyres... I currently have the Bridgestone Battleaxe BT 014's. Good tyres but not so many miles on the rear!!

Looking for some guidance... I want a tyre with the best grip possible and good milage?!

Any of you guys recommend a good tyre and where is the best place to buy?!

Any input would be great as i need to order some asap!! ON THE LIMIT!! Neutral

Best grip possible - I'd go for Diablo Corsa IIIs.
Actually didn't get too bad mileage from mine on a GSXR 1000, but they are still not far from a track tyre, so not going to be as good as less-sticky rubber.
However, enough grip to do slow speed stoppies in the wet and the duel compound rear seemed to work well at not letting it get too flat.

If you are riding it through the winter a lot of peeps are recommending the BT023's tis dual compound. Ive got the BT021's that the 23's have replaced and it they hold up well in the wet, only slipping due to my ham fisted throttle control when pulling away at lights, accelerating across white lines.

Just last week I replaced a BT021 rear that I'd managed to square off due to commuting etc

I'm having a go at some Maxxis Supersports out of curiosity - although TBF they don't always have the best reviews, and I've not used them in the wet yet, but they were cheap as chips so I'm not worried if I have to replace them really soon...

I found them pretty good.
They don't have much tread, but do have a lot of grip.

As an idea; I got them fitted to loose wheels so first ride really was the first ride.
Was going to the local shops. 20 metres down the road in the pretty wet conditions (still raining) pulling the front brake on briskly while going pretty slowly resulted in a slide.
A mile down the road at the shops and the same thing got the rear in the air, despite being wet and cold.

Certainly can't do that with a lot of scrubbed in touring tyres.

Thanks for the reply's guys!! I will only be using the bike on weekends and some nights after work and its fair to say im a fair weather rider haha!! Wont be going out much during the winter unless its a nice day so wont be seeing much rain!!

I was looking at the Pirelli Diablos?.... money is not an option relly ( you know what i mean) as i won't be skimping on tyres.

I'd go for Pilot Power Pures over Diablo Corsa III's, I've had both on the CBR, much prefered the Pures, better in the wet, better in the dry, and a quicker turn in!

Not tried to the new Diablo Rosso Corsa, there meant to be very good! I'd go for the Rosso Corsa over the Diablo Corsa III, it is a newer version with a few improvements, more grip on the side of the tyre, a bigger side area then before, and its also meant to be better in the bad weather conditions! I belive the Rosso Corsa has won quite a few tyre shootouts over the last few months.

I have Diablo Corsa 3's on my 636 2003 and they are very good when warm in the dry, fast and grippy, but in the wet I have had a few slips when I put the power on too early.

Still very good though, but I have huge chicken strips because work in only 1 mile away in straight roads! Plus the previous owner toured and they were a lil square so i have been slowly wearing it down and getting rid of his chicken strips.

Only had the bike about 2 or 3 months and the material seems to be lasting okay.

For winter, dunlop roadsmarts! They'll probably last you until summer. But they warm up quickly in the cold and give you confidence inspiring feedback in the wet. At least you know what your bike WANTS to do! Never had any other tyre on my bikes for the last 2 1/2 years!

Pirelli diablo's for me.

The Power Pures arent as good as the old Powers imo.

Im running Supercorsa's at the moment and even they arent THAT bad in the wet, but stunning in the dry. Itll pop a wheelie off the lights in the wet if the clutch is let out a bit sharpish.

Best tyres ive used in the wet were a set of Avon Vipers.
