I want to buy a top box for my 2010 ybr 125. Seen this on ebay

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GIVI-E300-MONOLOCK-MOTORCYCLE-TOP-BOX-CASE-30L-E300N-/380253308301?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5888dd058d

Anybody know if this will fit and be suitable for my bike. I'm new to biking, just passed my cbt on Sunday so advice on this would be very welcome! Would like to order by 2pm so hurry up with advice Very Happy

It would probably fit if you currently have a luggage rack. If you don't, then I doubt it.

FWIW M and P do the generic Tech-7 boxes with fitting plates and kits extra. Sizes 26, 32 & 48 litres. Link - click here.

I ordered some boots from m and p a few days ago and they are taking an age to deliver them, so will give them a swerve. I've bought the givi, should be with me by Friday hopefully will be good.

You have a luggage rack on the YBR then? I wasn't sure if they had them as standard or not.

Yeah YBR's have the chromed luggage rack as standard but with a Givi box you need the quick-release mounting plate that Givi also make, which you fix to the luggage rack and they're specific to the bike you're using. I have the E30 which looks very similar and is the same capacity.

I don't understand, a litre is a liquid measurement, how can you measure a box with the capacity of water?

Shocked Seriously Confused
Same way you can measure a engine capacity/displacement.
It's cubic centimeters. A 1000 of them is a cubic litre.
It's a volume calculation, width x length x height for a box type things (like, err, topboxes) and pi x radius squared x height for a cylinder.

What do they teach at school now? Not mathematics obviously Rolling Eyes

Apology if I missed any sarcasm in the original post.

Neil, I'm after a top box for my YBR125 too, did you have any trouble securely fixing your mounting plate to the little chrome rack? The structure of the rack seems very thin, usually bike racks have thicker tubing that you can bolt stuff to.

I never fixed it on myself. When I bought the bike it came with it already fitted. It's held on for nearly 3 years and 32'000 miles so it must be okay. I'll take pics tomorrow of how they did it.

Cheers for that.
The locking nuts supplied only partially screw on the bolts so don't keep the fitting kit tightly attached to the plate. I probbalt need to go to b and q and get some different bolts/nuts.

Thanks for taking the time to take and post the pics Neil, much appreciated. I can get a box now and be confident it'll fit.

Thumbs Up

Bought some different nuts and bolts from the pound shop and now it fits a treat. The ones that came with it were useless for the ybr.
