Looks to be giving the ninja 250r a run for it's money, but wouldn't it be better to make it at least a twin?

As long as its body size isn't the small like the CBR125 it may be interesting. Looks pretty.

Cool beans though, 2011 sees a CBR 250 and a Rieju RS3 250 Smile Ninja may have competition.

It does seem pretty pointless... its like the CBR125 being a CG in disguise, this is essentially a CB250 with a bodykit.
Im guessing its the 33hp rival to the "Ninja 250" but...they are a bit late with this one I reckon, most people don't bother with a 250.

Either way, i'd like to see it when its out...although not holding out much for many sales!

Oh and inb4 "can i fit cbr250 engine in my cbr125" Laughing

Sarcasm, my friend Wink

The old one was fucking awesome, wasn't it an 18k redline though?

Still awesome.

If they were to make a NEW 250cc IL4 THEN i'd be interested, but a single? having a laugh. that'll be as bad as riding the 125 - too much time on the motorway and you're firing blanks.

And the questions about fitting an old CBR250 4 cylinder engine into the new singles frame.

Mr Dunkable wrote:

Depends on the version. Some were 18k I think. Highest was 19.5k I think, although some people seem to instead quote where the end of the red line is Laughing .

All the best

It might do well outside the UK. 250cc is seen as the entry level in USA and a few european countrys take 250 the same way as we take 125s (like portugal).

I like the look of it. The engine is a big let down though. It's understandable they're trying to make a 33hp, efficient engine, but they shouldn't call it a CBR if they are. CBR's are meant to be balls out sport machines. This is not that...

Bring back the CBR250RR IL4 engine. A proper 250cc CBR.

Surely they will be aiming at the 33bhp market though meaning be same or slightly better than the ninja?

It looks OK from side on, pretty hideous from every other angle though.

Why on earth anyone would choose one of those over a restricted 400/500/600 is beyond me though. Does the Ninja 250 sell well over here? I've only ever seen one and that was at the BSB at Oulton park, amongst thousands of other bikes.

The "elegant" can looks horrendous.

It'll be an OK town bike, with a bit more legs when out in the open, and nice fuel economy. Far too kitten friendly to be a CBR250R

It should be a CBR250 F. Actually I don't even know why it's a CBR!

HAH! Exactly what I thought.

"elegant looking Smeg fridge freezer instead of an elegant exhaust can"

Every time a new bike comes out like this I fall for 80s and 90s sportsbike styling more and more!

I actually quite like it. Do we know how much power it is likely to make?

I don't get the point here. If you strip this bike and fit a rear rack it will sell millions. Ok maybe exaggerated a bit but you get the point.
Market needs a CB250/CB400 twin not a wannabe racer.

250cc Sportstourer with a racer name. Pathetic.
Now it is Suzuki's turn. I warn you guys, a 250cc Shitabusa is on its way.
