Well posted randomly all over the forums however now decided on what to do.

I am going to go for a sub £2k bike nearer £1,500 if i can get away with it , trade my NT650V in at the same time.

But after looking round and round I think from what everyone has said and what i like and what would work for me so thought long and hard about it and short of it as long as I can take my son on the back time to time do long trips occassionaly and be easy to maintain and clean these are what i/you have come up with.

SUZUKI GSX 600 around a 2000 model
SUZUKI GSX 750 around a 2000 model
HONDA VFR750 around a 1998/9 model

Any suggestions on this?

Out of the choice I would go for the VFR 750.

It was the first big bike I was ever on. Even as pillion it was seriously quick and comfy. If I didnt have my heart set on a VTR it would be the VFR750 and there is a blue one going in the mcn sales pages for £950 which is well within your budget.

Yeah it's just a cover.
Am I right in thinking the VFR750 stopped in 1997? Either way, it would be my choice.
However, at that money, I'd still consider a GSX750F in good condition - I used to have the earlier (teapot) model and, apart from the looks (which are better in later models anyway), it was a bloody good bike. Wouldn't bother with the 600 though when you can get a 750 for the same price. Cheap insurance too.

Well from what i can see, i would get a newer bike if I went for the GSX 750 and I do like the look of them.

VFR750 stopped early '98, updated to a 800cc engine which was FI part-way through.

Early 800's or late 750's are epic bikes. I however own a 1990 750, which is on part slightly quicker than a friends 2000 800vtec (also the brakes are better - my model came with braided lines as standard).
