Wanting to get some new ones, I've owned Sennheiser CX300II's for about 3 years (multiple pairs) and although they are good headphones, I've found I'm bored with the same pair, and want something which sounds better (I find the CX300II's take about 4months before they start to crackle from bass sounds) and is just as comfortable and not going to exceed £80 (although cheaper is better).
Music I listen to is dubstep, acoustic, rock, drum and bass, so it needs to be able to cope with loud, deep bass and often high end treble. Needs to be in-ear due to wearing inside a helmet on the odd occasion.
Does anyone use particular earphones whilst on the bike, or at home? Also would you be able to tell me if the ones below are any good?
Ones I've looked at are these:
Monster Beats Tour by Dr.Dre
https://images.play.com/banners/9702555xl.jpg
Although I can get these for about £30-40.
Shure 210's
https://www.iheadphones.co.uk/images/se210_large.jpg
Bit pricey at £80
Skullcandy Titan Black
https://www.iheadphones.co.uk/images/skullcandy-titan-black.jpg
Mixed reviews, both good and bad about skullcandy on a whole, they seem decent but not had a chance to listen to anything through a pair. (cheap at £25) ____________________ Bike: Currently Bikeless... Gahh |

personally found that if you do a trial and error purchasing of about 10 different VERY cheap pairs from ebay (£1 - £5 per pair) you'll stumble on at LEAST 2 decent pairs. and by decent i mean properly good sounding, better than £40/50 wharfdales/sonys etc that i've tried. build quality can be abit shoddy but you can A: either replace them often or B: glue them back together with NO detrement to sound (its usually the housing that will come apart purely because it's not glued very well and once reglued, they're BRILLIANT. ____________________ 57 Huoniao HN125-8 - , 97 Kawasaki GPZ500S -

I have two pairs very similar to the Skullcandy Titans. Think I only paid about £10-£12 a pair for them on fleabay - but they're more than adequate for my needs ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

As above, i've tried all sorts from Sennheiser CX's, Sony, skullcandy and even some Bose ones, and honestly, the best i've had are THESE CHEAPY ONES that cost about £8 !
the bass sounds brilliant but higher notes are clear.. brilliant, and loud too - i use them with my Nokia X6, and if turned to about 75 / 80% volume, even on the SV with a straight through stubby can, doing 100+ you cant hear anything but the music.
i honestly cant rate them enough - and for under £10 they are well worth trying !!

Edit: just read what i wrote, and i sound like a fucking 12 year old on speed. still too early for me to try be descriptive or helpful. apologies! ____________________ Previous: Cub50, NRG50, TS50, YB100, CB125, NSR125, ZZR600, CBF1000, SV650s, ZX6R B1H, XT250, Mito Powered Crosser, WRF450, , FZ600, VN800, GSXR600 - Currently CB1000R |

i've used skullcandy ones for about a year now.
Im not sure about their in ear ones, but all other products have a lifetime guarantee. If it breaks, take it back and get a new one. |

I have a set of These which I got free with my mobile phone and they are extremely good. Not cheap but then we're not talking cheap anyway.
Cheers

I'm using the Sennheiser CX300II's now, I like them but the bass is starting to fail a bit now, but I've had them for ages.
I used to have the Shure E2c's, they were BRILLIANT sound quality, but lasted me 3 months before both sides failed. I realised that some headphones are just meant to be used at home and taken care of a lot, and not squeezed into a helmet and wrapped around the iPod several times a day.
I have heard (don't quote) that Skullcandy are really good, and that they have pretty resistant membranes. If that's true the sound quality should be a little worse (you probably won't notice, especially if you're on the bike), but they should also resist the bass a bit more and last longer. |

The CX300II's I've had get cleaned (the rubber tips) when used, and so do my ears, so it's not a build up of wax causing the crackling, it's the actual earphone, I play the music loud and with a lot of bass so it's due to wear.
The link for those Monster Tours I posted about in my OP are fakes (the £30-40 ones) from ebay, Found out via a few posts. So they won't be looked at... It's a shame as they get good reviews for bass orientated music and look pretty nice.
I've noticed a few other headphones,
Klipsch Image S4 Earphones
https://www.hifiheadphones.co.uk/images/klipsch-image-s4-220x220.jpg
Which get good reviews, and apparantly can output decent bass tones.
Sony MDR-EX500LP
https://img.amazon.ca/images/I/31BKQat0HvL._SL500_AA300_.jpg
Get really good reviews, due to the 13.5mm diaphragm they can output a lot of tones and notes other headphones can't (apparantly). Definitly a contender, although they do stick out the ear a little, so don't know how practical they would be for using inside a helmet (thinking they would get squashed into the ear, causing pain/irritation). ____________________ Bike: Currently Bikeless...
