I`m not that good at posting pictures (takes me ages) so forgive me for not putting up any pics.

I think we might possibly miss out on some good machinery.
But what about you lot!, what bikes have you seen that are not for sale in this country but you wish were?

A friend of mine has not long come back from South-Africa and was riding around on a "Pulsar 180"? while he was out there.
I also have seen images of a "new" 4-stroke MZ and that looks interesting!

Whats out there? Thumbs Up

Only stuff that really springs to mind would be the old Jap market 400s, my old XJR400 puts my previous GS500 to absolute shame as far as quality goes.

The emerging market orientated sub 200cc bikes just strike me as grubby little rot boxes though, stuff like the CBF/YBR 125 has that front handily covered.

There are some great Japanese-market 250 IL4s out there. Maybe V4s too, not as familiar with what's available as I used to be.

Always liked the look of the Yam R1Z. And the RXZ, which is a bigger version of the RXS with such luxuries as lights and brakes that actually work.

Hi

Not so much these days, but there used to be plenty of interesting bikes sold elsewhere and not the UK. Hoards of Italian 125 2 strokes in the 1980s. Japanese market 250cc and 400cc bikes. American market big tourers (and even the Pacific Coast). Gag bikes. Pretty much anything from before the mid 1980s from Spain.

Still are plenty but mainly ones that wouldn't fit in with UK license categories. CBR150 and NSR150 for recent examples.

All the best

Keith

The old SDR200 is one of my favourite not available in the uk bikes. Not that I could ride one, it'd disappear up the crack of my arse.

EDIT:
Or the Aussie version of the C90. The CT110 "postie bike".

OOooh, yea, forgot about them. Wanna have a go one some day - like the idea of it having a 'low range' for trickier off-road stuff.

If you have search about, I think someone did ride one from Australia to the uk (ferry to South East Asia then overland from there) a bit back.

I had a go on one of those postie bikes 4-5 yrs ago, quite good fun Thumbs Up
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/big_al/a0cf1533.jpg

They do some newer off road style scooters in Thailand, I hired a Honda sonic RS125, was pretty cool, they have the CBR125 motor so you get a clutch and normal gear pattern as well, would make a great winter commuter.

If anybodies interested this is the adv rider thread about Nath, the guy that rode from Sydney to London on the postie bike. really inspiring stuff Smile

Mine. Sad

For some reason Suzuki decided that the Uk wouldn't want a stripped-down middleweight cruiser so it was only available on import - think there are maybe 50 in the country in total.

Shame, cos I love it to bits.......

https://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a229/Yambabe/BILD0484.jpg

Also the Honda VRX400 which I think is one of the prettiest bikes ever and would stillike to own someday even though it has sod-all power! Embarassed
