There's your problem. Age twenty years and live in a postcard-worthy cornish village and you'll be set.

I insure a TDM900 and a Triumph Speed Four TPFT for £550, Was looking at buying a 60's bonnie and adding it to the policy, about 50bhp from new 40-50 years ago, hardly doing any miles for of an object to polish garaged the works.

They wanted another £650 to insure it! Laughing

a brand new policy would have been £200 for it with 0ncb Confused

You got an R1 FC with 2yncb for £510!

I've got 1yncb and this is for an 09 plate SV. It must be the location, they must have Birmingham down as a right shit hole.

I have just amended my insurance and gone from a xt125 on a provisional licence to a TT600 on a full licence and they are actually going to refund me £3. A more powerful bike reduced my premium!

I still dont understand insurance Rolling Eyes

try simply insurance, they've been the best 2 years running by 500-1500 compared to others for me.
£310 comp paying £25/month (£260 in one lump), 2 years ncd at 24, with 1 theft claim.
K5 gsxr 600 all mods declared. PC3, akra system, titax levers, db screen.

my car on the other hand was a bitch to insure and was cheaper to go tpft than it was tpo by about £300. go figure.
not that i would claim if it got stolen as it's a pieceofshit ford ka.

Stick it in the kitchen and explain to em that's where it lives and it'll go under the garaged category. Your missus might not be too pleased tho.

Yamaha Thundercat AND Kawasaki KDX 125 on the same policy, TPFT, 100 of your English pounds.

That's age, experience and NCB for you. Unfortunately all of these take time to acquire.

Exactly what I was about to say! I worked in motor insurance for about 3 years and I'm genuinely stumped at the quotes I've just got!

Passed my test monday and was considering having a look at some BMW R1100/R1150 GSs on ebay. Bit of a pipe dream, but got some quotes and managed to get one fully comp for £309. 25 years old, new rider and living very close to aforementioned shithole (Newport), and insurance for a huge bike was still this cheap.

Anyway, had a look at a couple of 1150s and decided they were indeed much too huge for me to ride yet, so settled on a F650 GS. Went for a quote, all same details, but 30bhp and 60kg less and the cheapest I could find was £477! Not impressed!

Also, h00dwink, tried simply and they quoted me £Nan. Bizarre...
