Hi
Just wondered how long have various people been riding. I know with most, but not with most of the newcomers.
So, when did you get a bike, do you part 1 test / CBT / part 2 test / full test?
To start this off I got a bike in March 1987, did my part 1 test in early 1988 and did my part 2 test on 4th January 1989.
All the best

I passed my restricted to 33bhp test 1.7 years ago. I rode for a few months then crashed, was off the bike for about 5 months, got back on then problems with the bike meant I didn't ride for about 5 months again, then finally got the R6 this March and have been on the road ever since... done 5700 miles since March which isn't too bad going considering it's used for fun and a 4 mile commute 5 days a week. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

Nearing two years now. Got my first bike a bit after a turned seventeen, have been riding since then and will be back on the roads when I'm able to and allowed to.
For that I did my CBT in late August 2002, got the bike some point in September, did my theory in December that year, then passed my test (third time lucky ) in about early March 2003. |

I started riding back in 2003, early february and passed my restricted test this year in january, I have been riding for all of that period apart from when silly stuff like snow and an accident stopped me for short periods, oh and not owning a bike for a while stopped me to but I made sure I took a lesson every week. |

hehe this is going to be a bit of an embarrassing confession really.
Sat my CBT, got an NSR, pottered around on it having fun, then a few years later realised my CBT was about to run out and I hadn't dont anything about sitting my test! So I had to re-do my CBT
And then, you'd think I'd learnt my lesson but no, more years pottering around until I finally sat my DAS test in 03, about 2 weeks before my CBT ran out again! As my instructor commented on the day of my test, 'you have to pass!' Which I did Got the zx6r in 04. ____________________ "The problem with the French is they have no word for 'entrepreneur' " George W Bush

I've been "around" bikes as a pillion/hanger on since the early eighties, and was always quite happy with that. Got knocked off my b/f's bike in 1996, not a bad off, but enough to spoil my enjoyment of being a pillion.
Bike was our only transport at the time, so had to grit my teeth and bear it. Never really got it back though, so decided maybe I'd feel happier if i was in control and learned to ride myself.
Finally did my CBT and got the H100 in July 2001. Did my theory test in August 2002 and decided to go for DAS, but struggled as the bike (gs550) was way too tall for my short legs. Dropped it a couple of times in lessons then had quite a bad off, also during lesson. Luckily not injured, but confidence took a good battering and retired, hurt, to my pillion seat and gritted teeth again for a bit.
Got the H100 out again at the beginning of this year and re-did my CBT as it had lapsed in the meantime. Then realised what I had been missing, and passed my A2 test on 30th June this year.
Now out most evenings/weekends on my EL250, never been happier, getting more confident by the minute, only regret is that I waited so long......... ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

I'm one of the newbies on here aren't I?
Did CBT/DAS in October last year, bought bike in March this year and have been riding ever since. Done just under 2000 miles now too.
I'd ridden bikes before though, did my CBT in 1997 and had a KH125 for about a year and a half. Before that I had a Honda MT50 when I was sixteen, in the days before CBT was invented. ____________________ Colin McRae MBE 1968 - 2007 RIP

I passed my (2 part) bike test 19 years ago at the age of 21. I borrowed a KH100 to do my Star rider course and take my test (are 'Star Rider' still going?) then went out and bought a 750 and somehow lived to tell the tale. ____________________

Did CBT in July 2003 and got my bike in September (I think), have a year left to get test sorted since don't really want to have to re-do my CBT. ____________________ My Precioussss!, My Bikes, The Lord & Master, Canis Lupus!

Oh gosh, I'm the baby of the bikers
I passed sat my CBT in December 2003, but couldn't make my mind up what bike to get, 'cause I wanted an RS125, but loads of people were trying to put me off, then I went througha phase of wanting a CBR125, but again, loads of people put me off buying a brand new bike, then I joined here!!!
I seen piccies of NS125R's and though, hmmm, they're quite tasty, then the lovely ProXimaCore told me Izzy was selling hers, so that was me, sorted.
So to cut a long story short I've been riding now for a total of, wait for it......... 3 DAYS!!!
And I've got you lot on here to thank for that!! ____________________ I have an asshole tolerance level of -10
