Piaggio Zip 50 4t Starting Issues

Hi Everyone im new this forum and was hoping some one on here may be able to help me with a problem I have with my zip 50 4t. The bike cut out on me so the first thing I done was to change the plug, it then started again but cut out again after about 2 mins. I have checked that I still have a good spark and fuel is getting the carb but the bike will not fire up. Just wondering if anyone has any advice or common fault with these bikes?

is the battery flat ? is the engine flooded

maybe the air filter need changing

Hi no battery fully charged not petrol floding even left standing overnight with plug out will not even try to fire next day after replaceing plug

is the compression good ?

yes compression fine bike has only done 2000 km thinking down the lines of electrical problems poss CDI unit but reluctant to purchase if this is not the problem

hmm

try putting like a teaspoon of petrol down the plug hole and try and start it.

check your valve clearances aswell

Is there any oil in the engine, those wee bikes drink oil?

Hi problem sorted striped bike down broken lead from CDI unit found by luck more than anything,
