I swapped my CBR600F3 for a ZX6r with a local bloke.
For a week the bike was sound.

It was cutting out on me in the rain on weds night.
Wouldnt start unless the bars are on full right lock and the clutch was pulled in.
The engine number didnt match what was on the HPi check

So me, Toe and Gibo head back up to the bloke and i explained that i needed a reliable bike, that starts all the time and is safe for me to be on with my missus. He had told me it was an excellent runner, never let him down etc etc.

The bloke wasnt happy. But he sorted the cam chain rattle, replaced the headlight bulb, got a new mot. I boxed him off with some cash and rode away on the CBR Very Happy

Be careful peeps.

yeah i would have told you to fuck off,
especially since he did some work on your ex bike,
sounds like it was just a dodgy electrical connection

-10 man points for being a pillock and reneging on a deal and not sorting a wee problem out

My bike had a cam, chain rattle, brand new tyres (250 quid) fully legit with FSH-ish.

After a week or so the ZX was cutting out, would only start when the bars were on full right lock and cut out when turning left, needed rubber, rear shock was fucked, can was blowing all over the show.

I told him I use my bike every day for work so the ZX had better be reliable or i will be coming back.

I highly doubt that anyone else would have kept this shed of a bike when they swapped it for a good reliable running bike.

Bunch of wagon jumpers

I havent got the interest in going through an entire loom to sort out an electrical issue.

Double Pah, I actually grew up in Coulsdon and would have been 14 in '87. We pissed those Banstead pussies.

i still think you are a tool,
you had the chance to go over the bike and have a test ride before you swapped it, as far as we know the bike was running perfectly before you got your grubby mits on it and wrecked the poor thing,

im not particularly impressed with your whole attitude towards it,
but hey Very Happy your got your old bike bike in a better condition, so i guess you win Thumbs Up

Ah Bootle.... Thats your problem Laughing
The first time i sold my Gs (First out of 3 Rolling Eyes ) The guy was from bootle, agreed to buy on ebay. Confirmed in an e-mail and then all of a sudden he didn't want it. When i reported him to ebay to get my listing fee back he sent me a well thought out e-mail which read;

"Wanker!"
Laughing
Good that you got your bike back though although it does sound like it could have been just a loose connection in the headlight but.... Confused

Rob
Come to think of it, this guy was pretty inbred with his writing so he probably said something like "U iz aa wanker boi!" Rolling Eyes

The bike was fubar'd
the bloke lied to me, and was prolly hoping i wouldnt come back after i found the problems.

Ive just got back from a 340 mile round trip on the CBR.
The ZX-6R couldnt make it 20miles in the rain without having a hissy fit.

So fuck that shit, my bike laughs in the face of rain.

But to al those who think i am twat for getting my bike back...,

Why dont one of you go and swap your reliable bike for that shed of a ZX6r then.

So it wasnt FUBAR, it had an electrical/wiring problem, which didnt show up until you'd had it for a week and it rained.

So he's a bindipper that cant "rite", nothing new there, half the NorthWest cant rite either, grunting is the limit yo.

He did fix your camchain problem, headlight bulb and get a new MOT. That cant make him that much of a cnut. It would be interesting to hear the guy's side of the story, but I dont parlez that lingo any more, and dont feel like chewing a gobful of dirt to get the accent right.

And I wouldnt use swapz either, it's a use at your own risk site, as you've just found out.
