 |
|
Hi,
Have tried doing a search with google and this but can't find any solid info at all on this. I've got a bit of an odd bike and I can't find any documentation on it to tell me what size chain and sprockets to get. Is there a way I can work this out or does someone know what I need?
Bike is a Suzuki GX 125 (Suzuki branded but chinese made under licence as far as I can gather)
Many thanks in advance ____________________ Current Bike: Honda CBR 600F

I can't find a GX listed on JT sprockets so I think you're going to have to bust the callipers out, measure up the sprockets, and just try and find a match - e.g. the GN 125.
Find sprockets that fit the front spline and rear hub, then pick a chain pitch and width to match. |

Hi
You will need to know the size and length of chain. Size should be pretty easy as there are not many of them, and most wouldn't be used on a 125. At a guess it will be a 428 or 520 chain.
Sprockets have various fittings, and tend to be shared by lots of bikes.
With a rear sprocket will likely have a large inner circle or a particular diameter, a number of bolts on a certain pcd (ie, diameter of the circle that passes through the centre of each of the bolt holes), and a number of teeth, with the thickness of the spocket and shape of the teeth going with the chain size. There might be a slight offset to the sprocket as well.
Front sprocket is probably easier. Number of teeth is easy and thickness goes with the chain. After that there is probably a slight offset to the sprocket, and the hole in the middle will be splinned with the correct number of splines and diameter of whole / shaft. The may also be a pair of holes to bolt on a clip to secure the front sprocket.
If you examine your sprockets then check up with the various bikes on the JT sprockets web site. They helpfully have dimensioned diagrams of the various sprockets. Hopefully you can find a match.
All the best
