So im going to be a god parent at my niece's christening on sunday, and i have NO idea what to get.

my sister said she doesnt want "tack" like money box's etc, basically nothing thats going to sit in the back of a cabinet for years and eventually get chucked out.

so im guessing some kind of jewelry? preff gold.

men and women (women mostly) of BCF, please help me!

You've agreed to be a god-parent - how much bigger a gift could they ask for?

strangely enough I've just got in from a christening where we godparents, we got her an engraved birth certificate holder tube thing. I suppose it's gonna sit on a shelf but it just seemed appropriate for the occasion....

My Godparents bought me jewellery; fortunately they had the foresight to buy me 'grown up' jewellery, as oppose to child sized jewellery. My silver bracelet sat in a drawer for the first 18 years of my life (my Mum kept it away from me and therefore safe) but I have worn it on numerous occasions since then, whereas if it had been teeny weeny I would have had to pass it on to my daughter and I didn't have one!

They gave me the dragonfly brooch for my 21st and although not £££ valuable they mean the world to me!
