Bailiffs knocking on the door.

This is the third time now, for my landlord. I keep telling them he doesn't live here, but they keep coming. I'm moving out at the weekend, so I don't care too much, but they say next time they come it will be to remove goods. If they come while I'm at work and take all my stuff, what happens?

If they are not court appointed balifs then tell them to sling their hook or you are reporting them to the police. They have no right to harrass you and you can write to the company behind them threatening them with all kinds of legal action to get them stopped.

If its court balifs then its a whole different ball game and you need to be able to prove that you are not the bloke they are looking for and that you are renting the place. Tennancy agreement should be ok.

Go to moneysavingexpert.com website and have a look at their forums. they have shedloads of draft letters and advice that will help you out.

As for removing things when you are at work. Just make sure all your doors and windows are locked before you leave. They cant break in.

basically they cannot force their way in, they have to be invited in at least one,

that said they can be underhanded and make sure your doors are always locked, your car is parked away from the house etc.

They are court appointed, and I've all ready gone through the whole proving I'm not him and he doesn't live here thing. As he walked away today I heard him on his phone saying 'we need a van and locksmith next time'. Whether that was just scare tactics because he knew I could hear him or not I don't know.

Best thing to do would be get on the phone to the police if they are court appointed.

They are not allowed to remove goods that do not belong to the landlord. And unless you have a list from him saying what was in the house to start with then you can claim everything in it as your own. If you have already proved that you are not the guy they are looking for then if they remove anything its theft.

Get advice from the police ASAP and see where you stand. Failing that get on the phone to the court.

Never let them in, once they've been in once and got the walk in possession agreement they can force their way in on their return.

Deal with them on the pavement, even if its not for you.
