Mobile phone indicator

Anyone suggest where i can get one or what the are called.

They pick up mobile phone signals and flash if you phone is ringing so i can stop and answer it?

To be honest, by the time you've realised it's ringing, safely stopped, quickly taken gloves off, your helmet off and put it down it will be too late - I usually feel mine vibrate.

Is it not something you enjoy when riding your bike? Being disconnected for a bit and not caring.

I guess if you're a bike courier then maybe you'd want it, or if you where on call for what ever job it is you'd need to know.

Last time I had one of these must have been 2002 and I got it free from where some where.

Buy a scala rider bluetooth headset.
I got my first one with a tomtom, had a few since but just bought the fm version so when i get really bored i can listen to the radio and take phone calls when needed

Most mobile phone have some way of connecting headphones, just plug headphones in and then you'd hear it ring. There is a chance you'd miss the lights flashing. My old one sometimes gave false alarms, the phone sends out "I'm here" messages from time to time to the network which trips the flashing lights.

Bluetooth helmet Can speak and hear at legal limit no problem Others are avaiable too.

I would go with the other poster. Something like the flashing light will distract you.

I conect my phone to my satnav via blue tooth it's not very loud (unlike my bike) so I still have to pull over to talk but at least I don't have to fumble around with hat & gloves & end up missing the call anyways

my bro has the scala rider with his satnav & he recons it's still good at motorway speeds

Thanks for the response when in a local shop today i seen one of these little things that stick to the back of your phone hoping i could stick it to the inside of my visor right in the corner but its not strong enough to pick up the signal.

I think i will go with the vodafone one as its the best option.

Also just to clear things up I work in IT and say one of the servers go down they will call me i will see the light flashing and will stop at the next nearest parking place as it is not life or death.

However as this phone i only get calls on it from the company and from the wife / son in an emergency they know to just call and i will ring them back.

The other thing is that i often travel 200 miles at a time , and do not want to just putting my helment on then not realising that the phone has gone for a server i need to reload etc. and then travling the 200 miles getting to my destination and then having to travel all the way back just to run a few commands.

I am a bit dubious about the claimed 5m range. But for £1 it might be worth a go. They work off the same principle you get when your mobile is near speakers and you get that odd noise. Orientating your phone in different angles will effect the range of that vodafone one. I suspect its 5m from a certain angle.

5m range... in traffic pretty much every cager is on the phone anyway. It'll be flashing like Gary Glitter in a Vietnamese orphanage .
