CBF 125

does anybody know the seat height , i know im around 5 ft 8/9 , and im quite small build , would this bike still be a good height for me or am i abit short for one ? , im a learner and havnt done much on a geared bike before , are these bikes good to learn on ?

I'm 5 ft 5 and a half (got to add the half!) and if I'm tall enough to sit on one comfortably then you'll have no problem.

I will admit I am on tip toes with both feet on the ground but I rarely sit with both feet on the ground anyway.

Honda CBF 125 is my current bike... but moving on soon I hope.

It's cool to learn on, its got pace when needed and it is staple as well, so you'll like it

You're a similar height to me, and the CBF is absolutely fine. Great little bike (as far as 4 Strokes can be) to tool around on. Cracking MPG btw!

Thanks everyone , theirs only 1 thing pulling me back from this bike , and thats the exhaust it just looks like a old persons bike with the exhaust , and im 17 and care about looks and sounds , i know much of you will say well go get a push bike or sumfing lol but if the exhaust was different it would look so much more attractive , also i heard that the stock tryes on this bike are awful

Get an after market exhaust then. I've had a few goes on my mates and it's a pretty small bike for me (6'1) so you should be alright. His CBF has just come back from Honda though, gearbox fault of some sort after 4,000 miles. Stock tyres seem to be baised for the rain from what I can remember, but the wheels are very, very narrow anyway.

I'm 5-8 and I had an 09 CBF125 for over a year - very comfortable to sit on I reckon, seemed about the perfect height for me...

The stock tyres are abysmal, though. Very, very hard rubber - 9000 miles and they were still basically as brand new. Very, very slippy in the wet and not much traction in the dry. My CBF was actually a write-off because the front tyre wouldn't grip enough under hard braking when someone pulled out on me in the wet.

As for the exhaust, it sounds as bad as it looks to be honest... theres not much you can do about that if you can't afford an aftermarket one though. Me and my friend spent a few hours with a drill and a welder trying to make it sound better, but failed miserably.

Everything else on the bike is kinda bog-standard - build quality is nothing special, handlebars are shite (will bend with the slightest force), the rear shock is fairly shit, the chain will need replacing very quickly if you ride it hard, I went through 3 speedo-cables and so on... you get the idea.

The bike doesnt drink very much though, very good on petrol, though it tends to run like a rather large, heavy slug if you brim it!

Id say its a fairly good bike, if a bit cheaply made, just defo get some tyres on it! I wish I had :/

Too true about the tyres - I managed to have my wheels swapped with another bike in the dealers that had come with the Continental ones. They have also quoted 320 quid for the arrow exhaust, still not sure about spending that though - but the stock one does look crap. I noticed they do a seat cowl, belly pan and tail tidy for them now, but I think that maybe a bridge too far for me!

Cant remember what the thread was called but not long ago there was one about aftermarket exhausts for teh CBF. Just search it. Think they were leovince, arrow and devil ones

would only use it for about 5 mile a day
would like something sporty look
sound nice
£1000 (second hand)
£2000 (brand new)
Supermoto or Superbike ( shapes )

im 17 and would like something nice to look at aswell , not to botherd about speed as long as its not dangerously slow

Get A CG for about £500 and use the rest to do your test, then sell the CG for as much as you bought it and buy a big bike.

i would still go for the cbf, spares on ebay are criminally cheap and you'll need spares for when you drop it.

250 mpg can't go wrong really.

GET ONE! I have had mine for a while now and love it! Just dont take it out in heavy rain, I fucked mine up today but that was mainly down to the rain ,the tyres and the rider
