for my gran.

Now she wants a small 14-15" lcd tv for her bedroom with freeview built in and she wants a 22" lcd tv for the main living room with freeview built in.

Budget for small one is £80-£90
Big one = £180-£200 maximum but any saving is good.

Anyone got any recommendations or suggestions. Needs to be decent quality, warranty and not going to break after a year. The tv she has at the moment, she has had for 20 odd years and it cost her £5 back then from a charity shop.

I got a 23" Samsung from comet a few weeks ago for £230, think the 22" was about £210.

I know a few people with Samsungs and they've never had any problems. Stay away from brands you've never heard of and you should be alright.

Another vote for a Samsung screen, seem to offer best quality for the price.

Try looking around at Jon Lewis, as you should get a 5 year warranty included with it.

On that richer sounds site, they have a samsung 22inch 1080p for £187 with 5 year warranty. That seems like a good deal to me.

I was looking at the sony bravia but it says it isn't 1080p hd even though it is more expensive. I assume you are paying for the name if you get that.

FWIW Freeview HD is out now.

Depends if you want to get your TVs now and add a HD freeview box if/when it's needed or get a TV have freeview HD integrated.

Does anybody know if the Hannspree TV's are any good.
They look really nice but nobody I know actually has one. I've known the brand name for a while because of bike racing but didn't know what they actually did Smile

Did some LCD TV shopping earlier this year and ebuyer came up cheaper than richersounds and any other place I could find online so I didn't bother checking other links in this thread. Mainly because it was a quick post from work. Still its an even better deal at 165 as its a lot of TV for not a lot of money. I bought 2 F&H (ebuyer own brand ones) a while ago and I was really pleased with them.

Got a few Hanspree monitors at work and can't say we have any problems with them.
