Can anyone help with the above.

I want to capture a video from a website it plays in flash, i've had a look in the temp internet files and can not find anything in there.

Any useful utils to do this please.

It won't be easy if they are trying to stop you doing it.
Sometimes you can find the video's actual URL in the page source code - search for .flv or .swf maybe.
Then you might be able to 'save link as'

I'd be wary of various free things claiming to be able to download the video, it seems to be a malware high-risk area.

Its only an instructional video for a trailer tent but I think they sell it on a DVD so it probably is protected from downloading.

Could you just record the screen when playing it in full screen? Something like fraps can do that. Never used it but just remember the name from when I used to play Halo 1 on pc a number of years ago.

Thanks for that Charlie, I am aware of screen capture utils but thought there might be something to enable me to just download the original direct from them.

IIRC there's an add-on for Firefox that lets you do that.
On another PC ATM so can't help any further.
Suggest you try Firefox and its add-ons.

They are all balls. There are quicker, easier and simpler ways to get most flash content off the net.

Youtube annoys me now so I don't bother ripping off there. Sometimes only audio but then again the quality is shocking.

Worst case scenario use a screen capture program. I have it on another pc and can't remember the name atm.

I am using chrome so viewing source might be different in different browsers.

Go to the page originally posted.

Right click view source

Lots of code appears. Press ctrl-f and type "flv" a common flash format.

I found this line.

The clue is there, videoURL, the weird quality thing in quotes confused me a bit but I looked around and found this.

From that, you can pick whether you want the "hi" quality or "lo" quality.

I got as far as the top bit but didn't find the hi and lo in the code.

I tried:
crusader-quality.flv
crusader.flv
crusader-.flv
and loads of others

then i gave up and asked here.
