Was looking out for a Cub as I quite fancied another, spotted these

https://www.supermotorcompany.com

A couple of Dutch guys apparently who are importing them. Do you think they're made in China. I guess looking at the price they must be. What do you guys think. I've tried to find out where they're getting them from but have drawn a blank.

Almost certainly Chinese. But given the extremely poor build quality of the original Honda Cubs, and the very low price, it might be worth taking a punt. I doubt the rear subframe would rust away any faster than the 70s Cubs did.

I'm thinking that in the Netherlands they like their scooter/mopeds. So if they sell there then they'll be ok.
However, note the 25 and 50 models because of the different laws in Netherlands.
It's the 100 you'd really need for the UK.
@ 1400 Euros that's about £1250 plus whatever import tax, registration, etc. for UK use.

Given an old C90 can be had anything from peanuts (sub £400) to £1500ish I'd have to question the hassle and expense of buying and importing yourself.

Looking at the site and on their blog it appears they've been on the go for just over a year with 2 shipments in December 2009 and October 2010.
For some reason I do like the variant they have on there.
Not too practical but has fun written all over it...

They like them, but they don't in any way look after them or pay any attention to the cosmetics or mechanical soundness. They ride them until they break then push them in the canal or just leave them chained to the railings.

I'm pretty sure the Dutch don't have MOTs for motorcycles either, or at least they didn't at one point. They work on the principle that a non-roadworthy motorcycle is a self limiting problem.

Somebody had similar for sale on ebay, fairly nicely done, including a hand gear shift! I won it for not too much (around £200 I think; stock C90s are definitely worth more than 'project' ones it seems, however interesting), for use with supermopedathon stuff - but he'd sold it outside ebay before the auctuion ended.

Well I live 30 mins from Amsterdam, So I may just go along and have a look, to see what the quality is like and to ask a dealer where they are made.
I would have the 50cc one which is limited to 45km/hr. The larger one would be useless as it's not allowed on the cycle paths. Both smaller ones are however.
And yes you're right we don't have MOT's (or APK's) for motorbikes over here.
If and when I've had a little look, I'll report back, but they must be chinese as the price is about half a similar Honda or Yamaha scooter.

Basically a standard cub90...
Then take off the seat and bars section, add 'cafe racer' seat, bars and a small light.
Add tank between headstock and seat, different carb and exhaust.

should be pretty easy to do; only difficulty is probably the bars as stock ones are mounted directly to the yoke spindle affectively.

It's photoshopped, the barrel and head are at an angle when they shouldn't be.

There used to be handlebar conversion kits on ebay, basically a triangular bit of plate with two holes in so you can attach risers.
