i did my mod 1 without lessons and now i'm thinking of doing the same with mod 2. i've been driving for 5 years so i've got good road sense, i feel great on the bike and i'm reading up on all the checks that need to be done. just wondering if anybody else has done this or should i stop being tight and splash my non existent cash on lessons? Razz

Depends how good you are. The mod2 is relatively easy, just normal riding. As long as you know the correct protocal at the various junctions, round abouts etc. you should be fine. Read through the various threads about what occurs on mod2 to get an idea of this.

How long have you been riding a 125 for?

That said, a couple of hours lesson wouldn't go amiss and would highlight and help to remove any bad habbits or errors. I would recommend at least a couple of hours lessons or riding with someone with experience.

the_godfather had been riding his 125 on the road for a few months and passed the old style test first time with no real instruction other than a few pointers from myself on what they look out for.

Not sure if the new mod 2 is harder but I would imagine it is just as doable Thumbs Up

Sorry, I forgot they added a new part to mod2 last month. You may want to look into that also!

isn't it something stupid like they tell you to follow signs to somewhere and just leave you to it?

I've been riding the bike for nearly a year now. To be honest i'm pretty damn confident with what i'm doing. I'm just trying to find a website or a thread that explains the procedures properly so i can confirm I'm doing it right. I've got a book that explains what to do but its not 100% clear on what some of the checks are.

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 15 years, 334 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
