I heard that its a new type of restrictor, similar to Suzukis A,B,C mode selection, this one morphs into a 1000cc when the 600cc deems you are ready for it.

Just a rumour though.

If you look the R1 side is the near side which means if your standing on the pavement or being overtaken it looks like your getting overtaken by an R1.

I think its something to do with vanity.
