What is the most fatal biker accident generally speaking, t bone, head on, run on etc.

So far i know of one fatality where someone stoppied a rs 125 into a car pulling out at about 70 ish and got his head run over.

Any one else no some other common ones. I imagine being t boned by an 18 wheeler wouldnt do you much good.

Quite a few around here have been killed when a car has been reversing out of a drive, not seeing the biker and knocking them off and hitting street furniture Confused.

no it's the classic twat on a bike riding beyond his abilities and strays across the white line in to oncoming traffic

I suppose it depends on where you are, there are a lot of people killed in the Highlands from having head-ons with fucking idiot tourists driving on the wrong side of the road.

Most common bike fatality I get are as a result of right hand turns being carried out, either the bike turning right major into minor or right hand turn minor onto major, both turns usually result in some numptie hitting the bike with fatal consequences.

The other common one I get is a car driver going for the overtake and failing to see the approaching bike and a collision occurs on the riders side of the carriageway, usually head on, and just recently I have had a couple of head ons bike to bike, in other words two bikes going for the overtake travelling in opposite directions but fail to see each other, been a spate of those just recently! Neutral

That's the one that always worries me the most. You can pretty much judge where a car's going to be, but when I see people overtaking into oncoming traffic (ie. slipping through in the space between the car on your side and the oncoming car) I always wonder if they've considered the possibility that someone coming the other way is doing exactly the same thing. Confused

I guess that's partly why I very very rarely ever do it. Hell, I usually overtake like a car driver (big spaces) but meh, I'm not in any special hurry to get where I'm going.

/agree. Seen a few cases of it occurring in and around London, people just tying too hard to push through traffic and catching someone doing the same thing coming the other way. Thankfully they've been low speeds and usually resulted in no more than bruised extremities and scratched cars at the point of collision. Not seen any nasty examples on 'open' roads as yet, but given the habits of small groups of riders that cane it past cars in NSL areas of a weekend, it's only a matter of time.

Wouldn't those be the fault of the biker rather than the numptie car driver or am I just visualising it wrong?

One of my mum's work mates' husbands got decapitated going under the back of a bus. I should have thought getting wiped out by oncoming traffic whilst overtaking must be one of the most common though.

I was thinking that... like the bikers fault for pulling out/turning when there is a car coming?

Or maybe he means cars coming from behind the biker and kncoking them off?

I think that the only common denominator in accidents is :

Some moron wasn't paying attention

Be careful people and make sure that isn't you.

Cos Big Brother may be watching, but car drivers sure ain't.

Cheers,

Byrnie.

Lost two GOOD mates in less than a year thru fatal bike accidents. I DO NOT want to lose too many more.

Be careful out there.
I thank you.
