...for not getting the bike out this autumn.

The roads are mostly dry, the temperature is currently hovering at around 17 Deg. celsius here in the South and it's not quite 'dark-all-the-time' winter crappiness yet.

Had an awesome ride-out yesterday morning here, a route that took me through 4 counties* and almost 260 miles of back road blasting at rush-hour times too. The country lanes were epic, still enough leaves on the trees to form a canopy and tunnel effect (Which incidently I absolutely adore) but also enough light brown dry leaves at each side of the road to create the 'swooshing' effect as I whistled along the scenic backroads.

I ended up passing through the more scenic areas of the South downs at early light which was another interesting addition to the rest of the soul refreshing ride.

Anyway, there is no point to my post other than to say that the roads are still enjoyable. Get out there whilst you can because yesterday was epic and this week will still be warm. Thumbs Up

Completely agree. I've been racking up the mileage on the Bandido since the end of August. We've had loads of really decent weather, better than we had during most of the past few summers.

Laughing

Today is the only days its rained here, actually tell a lie, think it rained for about 10 mins the other day as well.

But it has been very mild considering, 10oC + I think everyday, yet a week or two ago it was quite cold.

I HAVE to use my bike so I will be out on it but the weather is far from ideal.

Wet, windy, cold at night (not this week though), roads covered in leaves.

mybike stuff seems to spend it's evenings on radiators, drying, ready for me to wear at 6am the next morning to get to work.
Try telling Windemere & Ambleside it is dry, I rode through about 5 miles of flooded roads last night in the dark - fun.

Well today is gorgeous.

Blue sky, no cloud, warm sun, cool air and it seems Cheshire east and pulled their finger out and got a roadsweeper as the roads home which have been covered in leaves for the past week and a bit, were totally clear. Not a trace apart from very sides.

Indeed, I went out, and I notice so many others did too. A hell of alot of leaves where I went though in Cardiff Rolling Eyes

It's another lovely one here in the sunny south too. Still a good bit of warmth in the sun. It frankly beggars belief that some people completely stop riding as soon as autumn appears when they could be out enjoying days like this.

I can understand people preferring a car when it's minus 12 and snowing. But with the temperatures around 10-15C, it's comfortable to ride even very long distances.
