Hi all just started the first steps to getting my bike licence.Done c.b.t and past the theory test 50/50 64/75 the only test ive ever passed first time,Just hope i can do the same with mod 1& 2.BUT not sure what to do now? I want to do green laneing so do i spend
out on a 125 and get out and about,OR do i use my cash on training to pass the mod1&2? Confused

Welcome to the forum and life on 2 wheels. As for your dilema. Why not do both?

Get yourself a bike that you can ride on the road and off the road. I'm not the best to advise on what kind of bikes to use but there are many on here. Tonka and Blue SV to name a couple.

Get your test done as soon as because once its done its done. The cbt only lasts 2 years.

I would say, if you can can afford it get a cheap bike to get some experience on it, then do mod 1 & 2.

For training I would say it doesn't matter what 125 you get, as your gonna sell it as soon as you past the test. Just make sure it a geared bike.

Do your test, then get a 250 or possible a 400cc bike Thumbs Up

You will get more cc for your cash, as 125's are expensive compared to bigger bikes. Due to everyone having to start on them.

Thanks for the advise,I went to have a look at a 125 kawsaki at my local dealer today as i was trying it out for size etc,i noticed a 250klx after a talk with the salesman and quick tryout.DECISION MADE. Pass mod1&2 Restricted after xmas,Get 250klx keep for 2 years then get a bigger bike.sort of sounds like a plan? Smile

my mate got a Honda xlr125 and uses it for road riding and green laning. he's had the thing everywhere in the lake district. could be a good starter
