Hi guys, I'm just wondering can the receptionist's at my doctors sign my photo? I would ask my doctor but he died a couple of months ago so that's out the question. Struggling to get someone sign it. Being out of a job doesn't help.

Cheers.

Hi mate, seems to be some confusion surrounding this,Speaking from my own experience i got my mate to sign both my passport photo, completely legal as he already held a passport, dvla then just took my photo from my passport and stuck it on my licence so i dont see why you ust cant get a passport holder to sign it.
Cheers

From the direct.gov website

Quote:
The person must:

•live in the UK
•know you personally (for at least two years)
•not be a relative

Suitable people include:

•a local business person or shopkeeper
•a librarian
•a professionally qualified person, for example, a lawyer, teacher or engineer
•a police officer
•a bank or building society officer
•a civil servant
•a minister of religion
•a magistrate
•a local councillor, MP, AM, MEP or MSP

https://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/NeedANewOrUpdatedLicence/DG_078281

I guess that if the receptionist has known you by name for over two years then it would be OK.

I've always wondered what would an absolute hermit do? Someone who's got NO friends at all to go to, nobody suitable to sign for them

I used to sign loads for mates etc (im a civil servant) but stopped doing it due to amount of questions i got asked by IPS getting silly...........probably due to the amount of fake passports & terrorism etc.
if its a 1st passport expect an interview.
used to be the case pretty much anyone could countersign but make sure countersigner is prepared for a call from IPS.
i signed about a dozen in a year & got contacted at work Shocked
they questioned me for an hour!
cheers,
GAZ
