Probably a stupid question - I've a new battery, its one of the ones you put the acid in yourself.

Do I really need to charge it fully or can I just whack it in the bike and let it charge as I ride?

Charge it on a motorcycle battery charger overnight Thumbs Up

If you do not fully charge it before use, you will shorten the life of battery.

He can tomorrow, but the bike isn't on the road so I can't ride it anyway so no rush I guess

Yes, I wish I had read the instructions instead of dumping the acid in, waiting half an hour then sticking it in the bike Sad

I let mine sit for a while before charging. Gives it a chance to settle, and it will gain a small charge.

Infrequent use and freezing temps kill batteries.
