Following on from the "What do you ride" thread, I was just wondering how many miles on there bike people do on here per month/year, and what do you do to mount those miles up?

Do you commute, ride for fun etc?

It's probably been asked many time I know, but It interests me to see what the "average" mileage is. Smile

I'll start, I do about 600 Miles a month, which equates to about 7000 Miles a year, mainly commuting and the occasional ride for fun.

Ride mostly for fun, although I do a short commute daily.

Have done 5700 miles in less than 4 months.. which is about 1425 miles a month - mostly fun stuff, only about 130 miles of that is commuting.

When I bought my old RVF 400 I clocked up 6,000 kms in the first month, I was addicted! I rode it to work, took it out every night and every weekend and generally spent all my money feeding it with petrol so I could hoon around the countryside. Those were the days Cool

I do about 50 miles per week on my bike, but it depends on how many practice rides I go on.

I use my bike purely for fun (i.e. Cat and Fiddle road!) and for going to Colin's house as it's a nice road to practice on and is not too scary.

All the best

... I do around 60 - 70 miles per day at work, and around 15 - 20 miles per day when I'm not at work.

Oh, I just got in from doing 140 miles today, went to Southampton this afternoon (got bored at home and took a ride out Smile ).

I cover around 25K miles a year.
Used for commuting, fun and touring. Bit of a bugger when the bike gets serviced every 4K and a new rear every 6-8K. Confused

Thank god I have a great mechanic ... Thumbs Up

So that is why you can afford to think about a Norton Rotary. Fuel consumption is not an issue Laughing .

All the best
