The answers are no and no. The new 360's use internal hard drives so you can't just clip your old external one onto it. I think the new 360's come with a data transfer cable so you can move all the old info from your old hd to the new console.

And personally I can't see the point of getting the 4gb model, unless you're only going to have save game data and updates on there. I don't really understand why they released one with such a low capacity drive on it, if you can afford it go for the 250gb version.

There are ways to connect other drives to them but you may have to do a bit of googling and fiddling with the xbox. You can use USB flash drives though. Might be worth connecting it and seeing what happens.

Don't bother with the 4GB.

To be completely honest with you, its not worth going for the 4gb console due to lack of space, plus the claim of having 4gb of space is a lie you actually only get 3.2gb after system information is on there.
You can use portable hdd's but there is a high risk of corrupting data on them.

If you can afford to get a 250gb... then i would suggest getting this one.
However if you were happy getting the 4gb one for now you can buy xbox 360 branded hdd's as far as im aware using one of these wont void your warranty compared to any other hdd, these are £79.99 in game. (bit cheaper on the website)
but be aware if you were to trade your console in at game it would need to have the standard hdd in it.
Also the 4gb are a matt black colour compared to the 250gb in a shiny black case.

The reason behind this was in order to have a basic more affordable version just like the old arcade and core models.

Tbh a lot of people take the cheaper option not realising that there is very little space they just care about the price.

Ohh and cansa, the one thing you need to ask yourself is what are you going to be doing with it? will you be downloading loads or not much at all, do you only really play a few games at a time or play loads and keep all the saves on the system... if your not going to be using much memory then do you need the 250 ? if you think yeah i might start downloading a lot more go for the 250... the choice is yours Smile

Hope this helps

Sainsbury's near me are doing the PS3 160gb for £199.99 which I thinks a good price. Seeing as you get the blu-ray built in and online games don't require a yearly subscription.

On the 360 front , I have a 4gb Xbox slim, which I find is fine. I can stick a USB memory stick in the back and have another 16GB if need be.

I like my PS3 because I don't have to pay to play on line and I like the Iplayer/web browser/youtube and the fact I can copy all my divxs and pictures to the PS3 hard drive.

I think the 360 is easier to use, a bit more friendly. I think call of duty mw2 looks better on the 360 tbh.

But then on the other hand, i've never seen graphics like Uncharted 2 on the Xbox 360.

If you get one ensure that you connect it to your router with a network cable as it'll then enable you to watch all your down loaded avi's (if stored on your PC and also connected to router) on the telly.

Also if you have live gold on it, a decent internet speed and you don't have sky, you can also watch sky player through the xbox on a monthly PAYG sub - no tie in. I just got it for November with sky sports 1 so I can watch the rugby - £25.

Thumbs Up

You can't just click the old drive on to the new style 360, but you can use your old drive without any real problems.

Had a lot of customers buy the 4GB machine as a replacement for their RROD old style machine.

Pretty obvious really. It makes you think you have an option, when in reality, you don't and you have to buy the 250gb.

Typical Microsoft.
