Guys and gals

I've been toying with the idea of getting soe different exhausts for my Fazer. I've seen some rather nice four-pipe ones that were done (can't remember by who off hand) just after the 04 bike was released.

Problem is that it's underseat exhausts as standard, and the fairing that curves around the standard pipes might look a bit strange with some different cans comng out of the back.

Also, and this is the bit that kind of puts me off at the minute, this will no doubt invalidate my warranty. So, should I wait for a couple of years, and then do it?

Thoughts folks please.
Thanks
Adam

There's no need to invalidate your warranty, just to tart the bike up. You'll be paying for the new exhaust, and changes to fairing and then any work that needs to be done that would have been covered by your warranty. Don't do it! Shocked

I suppose if it is only end pipes then they can be easily changed over, if something did go wrong.

The one I'm quite keen on is this:

Technically I would expect it does invalidate your warrenty, but if that ever becomes a problem, just swap the exhaust back and then take it back to the shop. Smile

I would happily fit a different exhaust when in the warrenty period, and lots of others will also do the same.

So if you want to get one, go for it and get one, as you bought your bike to enjoy it, so do just that. Mr. Green

wow that exhaust looks mad! i'd happily lose an ear for that, let alone loose a warranty, and as ste says if it ever needs to go back under warranty swap them back and no-one will be the wiser Twisted Evil

The place I got my bike from also had a dyno. They said that if I wanted to fit a new end-can and got them to set it up properly then they would honour the warranty. They were even selling a discounted tuning package with their new bikes which involved an end-can, K&N filter and dynojet to be fitted and set up on their dyno when it came in for the first service.

Have a word with your dealer, they may be prepared to do something similar?

As someone who once kept the exhaust system on her GS550 together for a year with petfood tins and jubilee clips I feel my opinion on this one is probably not that valid! Mr. Green
