Wow at the end of episode two. 300 hours of community service for death by dangerous driving and even before that, a woman nearly got 2 people killed, 5 points and a fine!!! Meanwhile a bloke gets his door kicked down for recording himself do a wheelie on the Internet. 'Part from the idiocy of the law, it's a good series, never seen the police in this light before. ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

Because people stand up and say they are law-abiding citizens that made a mistake and deserve a break.
Every time someone on here gets pinched for something everyone says 'why didn't they cut him some slack, he hasn't broken any real laws, he's a good bloke, etc etc' so they obviously agree that punishments should be minimal too.
Decent folk being idiots SHOULD get a bit of a break if there's been no harm caused. Hopefully it'll give them a kick up the arse and they won't make any more 'mistakes' in the future. Prolific offenders who ignore the law and the courts should be jumped on with big boots, and usually they are.
If you want to complain about shockingly low sentences for assaults, burglary and robbery then I'm with you all the way - have a word with the 'liberal' apologist establishment who have done so much to screw this country up over the last decade or so.
I thought this latest show was pretty good (if a lot quieter than the average shift in London!) as it shows that we spend a huge amount of time dealing with shit the public probably don't realise we attend at all.
If someone doesn't turn up to your burglary or assault or stolen bike straight away, it's probably because we're trying to sort out the marital strife of the underclass - before they stab each other and beat their kids. ____________________ >Soultrader Mister James, I bet you are a copper

I agree that people should be given a break if no harm has been caused. I do not agree that people should be given a break when harm has been caused.
The problem seems to be, its easy to define a crime for something where no harm is caused (ie speeding) while its harder to define a crime where harm is caused, ie dangerous driving resulting in someone being injured. As with speeding, the crime is clear cut as speed can be measured, while judging blame for an 'accident' or a 'collision' the person did not intend to collie with something.
The law seems to judge intent more than it does consequences.
So a doddery little old lady may be more dangerous on the road than a 120mph sports bike rider, but she is innocent if she is merely incapable as opposed to wilfully breaking the states laws. ____________________ colin1 is officially faster than god |

So even if they dont generate profits, their effect on the citizen is the same, revenue generation becomes a priority. |
I'm not on about fines. Though fines play an important part in keeping demand for your money healthy (healthy for them bad for us).
But think about money, have a read of a £10 note, it says on it I promise the bearer.... today this means nothing NOTHING. Before you could exchange it for gold or silver. Thus it was backed by gold and silver (also fiat but less worse).
So what is money backed by? Money is backed by the government creating demand for your money via taxes. As taxes/debts can only be paid in their notes, which they own and they print and they give value for.
Guess what taxes are backed by? Force i.e. you refuse to pay you get locked up and made an example of. Thus over time people have traded worthless bits of paper between themselves as they are essentially I don't want to go to prison cards. Guess what the police do? They enforce the law which enforces demand which gives your money value. Imagine if I come into your house with an AK47. I lend you a blank piece of A4 paper. This A4 paper is worthless. I now hold th gun to your head. And demand the A4 bit of paper. Suddenly the paper has some value as it prevents you from being shot.
The thing is I don't lend you this A4 piece of paper for free. You have to earn it from me by selling your labour to me. Then I will lend you the piece of paper while still pointing the gun at you. THIS is why our money has value nothing more. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.
