The day of my test I filled up at Morrisons, and it was one of the only times I didn't bother to take it off.
They seemed fine with it. Though, it is a very popular station being on the 'way home' from people at work from Cardiff, so I assume alot of bikers use it ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11

Morrisons do however have a great deal on half price Champagne at the moment. Limited to three bottles per customer though. I don't drink the stuff but the wife and my sister do, so bought a couple of cases ready for the xmas binge. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Sod any petrol station that wants me to go through the hassle of taking my lid off then having to touch my lid with petrol hands.
I save them a power trip and always use the pay at the pump.
If i was going to rob the petrol station and they asked me to take my lid off do they honestly I would say..............Hang on a minute while I remove my lid before robbing you!
It's very simple, Petrol stations get robbed because of their greed. Why do you need a shop at a petrol station, so they can sell you more . On the continent and some stations here all they have is like an secure booth and the just pay there through a slot......problem solved. If i wanted drink/food/porno mag then i'd go to the shop
To prevent drive off.....pay before you pump....simples ____________________ Current ride - Yamaha MT-07

My local Asda on the other hand has just had a refit and I can't find stuff easily in there. I did get the cat his favourite crunchies though, at 95p (instead of £1) they were a bargain, so I bought 6. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Does the pay at pump use cash? Or is it card only? ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11

Right, because the rozzers are falling over themselves to investigate and prosecute £15 drive-offs by people who have used fake plates to hide their identity...
I do take my helmet off when using pay-at-the-counter, because it's polite to do so. Then again, I can't really be arsed with it, and do a lot of ride-throughs when the pay-at-the-pumps are all full or bust. There's always another 30 miles in the tank. |

I was just thinking the other day that we haven't had this age old thread for a while. I spoke too soon.
I take my helmet off at petrol stations regardless of them having a sign or not. I'm fucking gorgeous and everybody deserves to look at me. ____________________ Current: Honda Nsr 125

Must be the OP looks real dodgy. As I fill up every week at Morrie's and have never been asked to remove my lid
Why is it every time someone posts one of these threads the Burka gets dragged into it....
I have never seen anyone fill up wearing one.... ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

I just don't use Morrisons for petrol for the bike full stop cos last time I did there was "something" in it that immediately caused the bike to start dropping onto 3 or even 2 cylinders as I rode home.
I had to drain my carbs when I got in, there was a fair bit of water in there and when it hit the warm engine casings there was also something that evaporated leaving a white crystally subtance on my engine.
So no, don't care if they want me to take my lid off or not cos I don't trust their petrol after that........ ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

Taking your lid off isn't anywhere near as irritating as filling up at a petrol station only to realise that there is actually half a supermarket in there so you're forced to wait behind a queue of people getting their weekly shopping tilled up by a single slow-coach when all you want to do is pay for £10 of unleaded.
For me though, the Islamic head-dress argument falls into the "I'm not a racist but...." category, the full face version is really rare compared to others and I can't think of any cases where a petrol station was held up by somebody who was wearing one. The same can’t be said for full-face motorbike helmets.
A business has the right to enforce a policy like this, and you have the right to take your custom elsewhere without ranting about Muslims. |
