Ive always wanted to have a jawa 350 but I have heard loads of bad stories about them, not starting etc, for the money if youve got it to spare then why not and it is a perky 2 stroke Very Happy

I once read an article about those bikes and how the young Russians were tuning them and modifiying them.
They could lose the police that were chasing them Smile

Once sorted, they are a lot better than people give them credit for.
Many many moons ago, I had a CZ 125 and a mate had a Jawa 350 twin and his was great, mine was a heap but I still loved it.

Ok we are`nt talking Yam RD performance but as I remember it shuffled along quick enough.
someone I know now has got one (sort of custom version?) and he says it`s not bad.

As for the one in the picture, I think it`s a handsome little beast in a quirky sort of way.

I cant find the link at the moment but there is a company that has started to import Jawas into this country again.
That said, spares should not be to much of a problem as the design has changed very little over the years.

If I had any cash to spend on a cheap & cheerful project bike/something a bit different/quirky runaround that would be on my shopping list Smile

By much I mean significant in terms of parts to keep the thing running.

Q: hi...how interchangerble are the Jawa and CZ parts? twin leaders...are they any good? ......is the oilmaster trustworthy?...cheers...andy 16-Nov-10
A: Andy,most of the JAWA and CZ parts are similar, the CZ frames are different tend to be single down tube rather that twin tube. so parts with attachment pints may be different. The wheels are different alloy rather than chrome steel, although I think they can still be fitted in JAWA frames. The twin leading shoe rear brake was a big improvement over the standard brake. The bike stops fine. The oil master pump system has never given me a problem over all the years I have had the bike.

I've just re-read the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics article, and they definitely have a bike with a Cezet tank badge which they refer to as a CZ250.
