Photo's. A shot of Red-X with that sir,?

OK, getting confuddled now.
Snowie's got herself a bit of 'free' web-space. She decided to host all the pics of her 'Pup-Project' on it... so of course she deleted everything on her photo-bucket account, then had a blonde moment wondering why her bloch-post on here was full of 'Photo-Bucket - Image Unavalable' messages!
Explained it to her, and sent her off to change all the URL's from photo-bucket to webfreehosting. seemed simple enough.... except when she'd done it, got loads of red-x, rather than her pics. (reduced in size too so they load faster!)
Now I de-bugged some of them. It was a case sensitive thing. She'd taken the URL's of her pics from a web-page, and they had capitolosed the file-names, which actually had lower-case charecters in the name on the server.
However; corrected all them; copied the file name off the server. Still got loads of red-X's!
And the odd random pic displayed!
NOW, right click on picture properties, copy the URL, past it into a new window.... it displays.
Come back to BCF.... click 'show-picture'.... it'll display!
Click 'refresh' back to red-x's and a new set of occassional random pics!
Anyway, checked & double checked, urls & code of the first post she needs to change, and I'm lost as to why we're getting the Reddex treatment.

So, reporduced here, do you get pics or reddex? And any ideas why? Is this just something through my ISP, or does every-one egt the same thing?

I'm guessing that web host won't allow hot linking .
You must have to make a webpage probably with their ad-banner or tracking cookies on it.
The annoying thing is it can look OK when you look at it yourself.
When I view one as a link it will appear in your post too (browser caching maybe)
The free webhosts are OK for some things.

What was wrong with photobucket for image hosting?
If you just want one or two pics on quick, www.imageshack.us is good.

Something like that would work quite well put on www.blogger.com
You can hot link images uploaded there too.

As said above hotlinking is disabled to save them bandwidth from you linking to the picture from places other than the website. It displays for you / her as you've been to the site and have the image in your browser cache.
Upload the pictures to a decent service like flicker or picasa and you should be able to hot link to them on the website.

She's now having a woman's rant at technology, 'cos its not doing what she wanted! (She mamaged to rename all her photo-files!)
So she's getting her hair off trying to work out what deleted photo was what and re-load it to photo-bucket.
She looked at blog-spots, but the reason for putting it all some-where other than on here, where she originally blogged it on Show & Tell was becouse she's doing key-skills Computing at college, and the tutor asked her to show her something she's don on a computer... she thought she'd be clever and show him her Show & Tell.... only the sites blocked by the college firewall!
So she's been told to create a web-site!
She's spent today sorting photo's and trying to make web-page logos and the like out of them.... Reminds me.... I better burn all my pictures to disc..... soon! GAWD knows what she might do looking for something interestin to turn into a banner or something!
