Precis, police are to get powers to shut down ANY .uk website without recourse to a court order.

Add to that a D-notice being issued to UK news editors re any wikileaks stories.

https://twitter.com/wikileaks

Quote:
# The D-notice is type 1 and type 5. 5:43 PM Nov 26th via web

# UK Government has issued a "D-notice" warning to all UK news editors, asking to be briefed on upcoming WikiLeaks stories. 5:13 PM Nov 26th via web

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D_Notice

DA-Notice 01: Military Operations, Plans & Capabilities

DA-Notice 05: United Kingdom Security & Intelligence Special Services

Dont expect anything from the BBC or UK papers then, but that's not much really new.

If you've got any brains and run an alternative info type website you host it way out of the UK. Aside from them filtering and or blocking info China style anything going via UK ISPs, there will still be alternative sources of info for a while.

When the shit really hits the fan we'll see...

Skudd, just go back to sleep.

And how is that?

Not getting all Daily Mail about something all the time?

The reality is ................................... well each to there own but some are far more removed than others.

Some people's hobbies are to find things to be horrified about and then going on to telling others how horrified everyone else should be too. It is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo predictable. It is all about trying to tell others how smart and with it they are, when in fact they are just dancing to the tune already played out a thousand times before.

You come across a bit cynical from that. Its not all about showing people 'how clever I am' its all about informing others on how their liberties are being suppressed. Maybe you have an issue seeing the selfless aspect of it.

Yes it is, but some things are a given and don't require Daily Mail type fluster and bluster. Most current affairs posted on here is history and just to stroke the ego of the person posting the shock and horror of it all. It is the "i'm intellectual and worldly wise because I have read an article on 'insert here' and I have to tell everyone about it" There are some on here who's hobby is to be outraged by something or the other.

Like you now? Razz

But seriously, It doesn't bother my head. It's the first article I've read on this issue and I wouldn't care to look at another just to read it in a bit fair mild manner.

Is it not the job of a journalist to portray information given to them or which they themselves have sought? To read it once is to read all articles, no matter of its reasoning.
For we will wake up in the morrow eternally reading such articles, for we can tell the mood of an article by the first words and any provoke will pass over head without hardly time gone by.

This means nothing to nothing, sites such as elite fitness pharmaceuticals who were selling anobolic steriods in the uk and sites that sell drugs as plant food will be those closed down.

No one in any position of power gives a fuck about alternative news websites,if there not funding them to start with its a case of:

If Obama could shut down Wikileaks, he would. It's the fact that its hosted by countries who dont bend over backwards for Americans that means we get to hear the truth.

I like to hear the truth, but I would argue that sometimes too much truth is a bad thing, if the consequences are bad.

People in a position of power would also give a fuck if alternative news websites told people to go kill their MP, and people actually did it, which has happened.

Arguably, saying that MPs who voted for the invasion and slaughter of hundreds of thousands of people, should die, is a bit of a valid point. Actually picking up the knife to do it is a crime, but thinking it and saying it is a thought crime, and is punishable in this country.

The truth, people die in war and countrys spie on eachother..ground breaking Laughing if there was a problem with wiki we would not have got to hear about its existence.

When a site goes beyond reporting its own view of events and starts calling for deaths then yea you can bet its noted Confused

You could also say the people who carried out the war deserve to die, you could go further and say the people who paid for the war in tax deserve to die - wars are shit i cant think of one worthy one how ever war is a big part of the human trend the latest incidents are just that. If you think a few gormless MPs are the sole cause of such things then your part of the issue.

You missed my point. My point was that the governments do care about what people think, and would have reason to shut websites down, that advocate things they dont agree with, like killing MPs.

Freedom of speech is always within limits.

Yeh, but I was waiting for you to say it so I could refute it. So please feel free to list your theories on how you feel Islam suppresses ones liberties.

Depends on what you see as liberties.

If you intention is to harm yourself or others, then I guess religion does suppress your liberties.

I love the way you give such an extreme example of some thing they dont agree with, oh yes they dont agree with having there cabinet murdered, goverments dont give a toss what people think they Create what people think and if that does not work there are better methods to gain control..

But hey hey hey infowars the most anti gov site there could be has been up and running since " Creation Date: 07-mar-1999 " straight out of texas but i guess they cant touch that it would "make it stronger".

People have the power to speak and people have the power to act can you guess which has the least impact? Heres an idea confront peoples "free speach" and they will be so outraged they will spend all there time and energy speaking out for free speach! As if it fucking solved anything to start with Laughing provide a few sites for people to copiously apply There power of FREE SPEACH and hey hey hey there about as effective as the law that set out to curb there free speach...fox chasing its tail? Laughing

I'm not a religious type, nor am I vegetarian either, but you are an idiot!

Religion doesn't supress these activities, People aren't forced into a religion, they choose to practice the religion.

They use their liberty of FREE CHOICE, to CHOOSE to not drink, to CHOOSE to not eat Pork, to CHOOSE only halal, to CHOOSE to pray. At any time they can turn their back on the church/mosque, and do what they want.

I choose not to pray, I choose to eat meat, I choose not to follow a religion, it doesn't mean I have more liberties than those who choose the opposite.

You do know, that not all extremists are from religion, and your comments that Religion supresses peoples free choice and liberties, is identical to somebody stating that everybody should be Christian, or everybody should be Muslim.

I only go by what the Qur'an says, because I believe only its teaching are divine, not the Hadith or whatever some Imam or religious leader has said.

Booze

Yeh I had a few drinks on saturday night. However, the Qu'ran says not to be under the influence of strong drinks when preying, Because preying is a form of meditation and it's hardly going to work when your feelings are numb. Another reason why it disapproves of alcohol, is because alcohol is harmful to the body. Scientists recently proved that any amount of alcohol drunk by women can increase there chances of cancer. As for men, Im not so sure

Alcohol for most people is the gateway to all other evils. I know this, because when I drink, I wanna take Coke, then I wanna fuck some bitches. Fortunately, I can control my urges, but some people just can't, and should never consume alcohol, because they act like total wankers on it. Alcohol is also proven to be more socially crippling/dangerous/destructive then any other drug.

So I can see why your advised to avoid booze.

Pork and Halal Meat

Pig's bodies contain many toxins, worms and latent diseases. Although some of these infestations are harbored in other animals, pigs are far more predisposed to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because pigs like to scavenge and will eat any kind of food, including dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta (including their own), garbage, and other pigs. They do not have the kind of multiple digestive system that the cud-chewers do, so the poisons that they consume go directly into their flesh.

Islam also prohibits the consumption of blood. Blood is said to contain an abundance of Uric acid. A chemical Substance which can be injurious to human health. If you consider the biochemistry of Humans, our kidneys will remove 98% of the Uric Acid excreted through waste. The pigs biochemistry only removes 2%, whilst the rest remains as an integral part of the body.

Islam wishes animals to be given respect lives, So does not support factory farming or other unnatural methods. When it is time for slaughter. The butcher will makes an incision through the jugular veins, leaving all other veins and organs intact. Therefore cause of death is by total blood loss. Where as if the animal was killed in another way the animal could die immediately and its blood would congeal in its veins and would eventually permeate the flesh. This implies that the animal flesh could be contaminated with uric acid and therefore very poisonous; again, this was only discovered recently. According to the pigs natural anatomy, it does not have a neck. this could be another reason why the muslims believe this animal is not for human consumption.

Obviously we have come along way since the introduction of this book, So meat is safer to eat, but when I get meat for the house, it is from the halal butchers.

Prayer

Like I mentioned before, Prayer is a form of meditation, I don't think im in the right spiritual place to get anything from preying at the minute, So I don't do it. However, Islam does not force anything on anyone, if you don't know why your doing it, then don't do it, its as simple as that, your not going to be punished for it, God will excuse your genuine ignorance. Those of us who are more self and spiritually aware will prey because they want to.

Another thing about Islam that is commonly overlooked is the word punishment is mentioned in the Qu'ran 33 times, the word forgiveness is mentioned 99 times. It is recognised that you will go through your life and make mistakes, its important to repent for those mistakes, learn from them and always show good intention.
