Hi

not keen on the way my fazer tips into corners with a 110/70 front.

Any danger in changing the wheel to a 3.50 x 17 as opposed to a 3.00 x 17 so I can run 'normal' sized tyres on the front? The thundercat has the same set up.

Anyone done anything similar?

Cheersssssss

What is the rear size? You may find you do more harm than good ...

Often simply changing tyre manufacture will give a different profile and 'feel', how many 110 tyres have you tried on the front?

I'm running 120 (F) and 160 (R) on the Bandit instead of 110 and 150 respectively. i think the profile is slightly lower too.

And it seems to work, great grip and handling with no probs so far. Will probably do the same next time round too.

Rear is a 160/60.

Wouldn't mind being able to fit minitwins scrubs, but I can't on a 3.00 front rim.

My monster has a 120/70 front and 160/60 rear and so do the majority of midweight bikes.

Hmm.

I see, why not try a 120/60 on the front? ... I think 'can't' fit a 120 to a 3.00 rim is not strictly true! Wink

I don't find I have any problems with the 110 on the front.

What tyres are you running on yours?

The Thundercat wheel will drop straight in as mentioned before. I would think you could probably squeeze a 120 on the standard rim though?

Bt021's. They're wank.

Getting roadsmarts next week, will try a standard set, and if I don't get on with it get a fzr600 3.5 rim with a 120 on, as it's a direct swap.

I'm not putting a 120 on a 3.00 rim as it will baloon the tyre out to much me thinks.

I have never had a problem with the front wheel on my Fazer, it is a 110/60/17. I have BT021 front and rear.

Try a set of BT023'S.

I had an 023 on the rear and a very low on tread bt020 on the front and the bike would go round any corner. Could get the peg down no problem.

Try a set of 023's. I couldn't fault the one I had on the rear. Was great. After 2000 miles of all round riding it looked like new, and wasn't squaring off either. Highly recommend them.

Whats making you try the roadsmarts?

Roadsmarts have good reviews and I'd like good mileage from a set of tyres. I'm not mad-quick on the road and I think anything more sporty will be a bit overkill and money down the drain. Plus I've tried a set on my Dads B12 and was quite impressed.

Haven't really got on with any bridgestones since the 010's.

Kitty Kat - Sure it's a 110/60 not 70?

just removed the 120 from the front of my fazer for a new 110, was slow handling and slightly unstable at speed, spent a few days wobbling around as the new 110 steers a load quicker, but now I'm used to it I wouldn't go back, like riding a sports bike now, just put some cheap new qualifiers on, were a lot cheaper than roadsmarts, they may be better but the qualifiers are a great tyre anyway

Sorry, yes you are correct, I have had a 120/70 fitted to it before now though and never really noticed any difference between the 2 widths (apart from the price).
