Okay any of you who have msn will know that its a must have.

Most people nowadays have an internet connection and If they have msn talking is easy...

There is a new program about some of you may have heard of and its called skype - basically its msn (extremely similar) except its a voice chat program that is as easy if not easier to use than msn, and has the same style 'contact' list (online/offline.. etc.) interface.

trust me download it. Yeh you can use it to call house phones but you can build up a contact list of your mates and dial their pc's. Its good.

Yeh seriously, you could. I was AMAZED at call quality, its 200% better than a standard telephone!

Is it real time as well, like a telephone is? i.e. no jerks in the audio? I think I might give this a go at home when I get back too, should be quite helpful when I call the US!

Yeh! NO time lag at all. Like, whatever the ping is (i.e 30 ms) which is nothing.

I have tried this at home, and it was most amusing.

Having a real-time phone conversation with 5 people. Weird.

Although they do have to be online at the time for it to work.

And be ready to talk.

It's not as good as is made out. You cannot call telephone numbers for free. You must register a voucher.

I've had a look at this, checking it with a well configured firewall, packet sniffer & spyware checker.

Haven't found any sinister programs
