God knows I hate Christmas but there are a few good things.
Time off school is too long so that does not go in.
Extra shopping hours, no way.
Xmas food, I hate it.
Top Gear special, this will be gay.

There actually isn't anything good this xmas for me, apart from maybe getting a new 24" monitor for my computer.

Finally my family including my daughter have recognised my xmas meh.
Again there will be no tree. The presents will be put underneath my guitar rack. I prefer to buy presents when the mood (wallet) takes me and the same with visiting, not because it's the 25th of December.

Here is the good thing about Christmas:

* I can sleep in for a minimum of four days.
* One of those days, I have to get up (but probably not till about midday) and go to have dinner with my daughter, Anita.
* For once I don't have to provide, cook, peel, chop, stir, whisk or do anything (unless I want to) apart from drink and smoke joints and eat whatever is put in front of me.
* I can get drunk (or stoned) and refuse to drive home. Or I can sleep in the car, as this year I do not have to account for anybody else, except myself.
* I can pontificate and be the annoying one for a change.
* If I want to, I don't even have to buy a single Christmas present. Because the only person in my life who currently warrants a Christmas present is Anita, and she is perfectly content with whatever I buy her, or if I don't get round to it before 25/12/2010, then she is perfectly content to wait until I do get round to it.

What I REALLY hate is New Years Eve: enforced drinking and excessive jollyness over the ticking of a clock. Nah, can't see it myself.

Huge log fire

Hang on, that's just winter in general. Xmas itself is a chore.

This year though, the forced "it's xmas, you're supposed to be having fun. Now cheer the fuck up and listen to the kids sing Frosty the Fucking Snowman again" style jollity can go swivel. Nothing's going to piss me off, I ain't unemployed for the third xmas running

I'm really looking forward to xmas this year. On the 16th of december I finish uni for a month, which means a whole month of spending everyday with my 1y/o son! (something that just wouldn't have happened when I was working full-time) And there's the end of semester bash at uni too

On the 18th of december we're moving into our new house. After having spent the last 2 months living with family, it has been a total nightmare everyday... So we'll finally have some space of our own.

My wife and I have set a spending limit of £25 each for crimbo prezzies for each other, so I'm looking forward to christmas shopping as I'll actually have to put some thought into it this year.

Christmas dinner is always a treat... My wife doesn't like pigs in blankets and I always "forget" this fact and cook too many (which translates to me cooking 12 of them and scoffing the lot)

Other than that I tend to find that people are just that little bit nicer on the whole (obviously not on the high street)... I've had people I don't even know pay for my drink in pubs and such, just because it's christmas!

I'm also looking forward to next year when I get to perpetuate the greatest lie in history (well, the second greatest lie, after genesis) and convince my son that all the joy, merriment and presents are the work of a fat man and his dwarf slaves!

FYI i did help someone out. It went like this. [cool story bro]

Put the kettle on and noticed some nonce had parked their MX5 at the bottom of the communal carpark. He was trying to reverse it back out....up the hill. It ended sideways against the kerb.
I went upstairs and brushed my teeth.

Came down..made brew and lit a smoke. Could hear scraping outside, so opened front door and was pained to see said herbert using a dustpan to clear a path...yet not where sane people would start. Brew finished i went in.

10mins later and my lift arrives. He parks at the top of the hill and takes a shovel out of the back. By the time i had my boots and coat on my colleague was already shovelling away.
'C'mon mate' i said whilst taking the shovel off him. 'We're not being late...anyone daft enough to park a sports car at the bottom of a hill can sort themselves out'

I saved my colleague from a possible poorly back and tired arms.

My festive deed is done.
