Their are certain films it improves no end and there are certain films which it ruins.

TRON will be more epic in 3d.

Just bought myself new 50" and Bluray. TRON will be phenomenal on it.

Agree with the 3D thing being pap. Seems a lot of money and development going into home systems but most folk i've spoken to don't like it.

Cinema 3D is a different matter.

so excited you said it twice? Laughing

The Tron OST is fucking amazing (I haz it!).. Daft Punk are epic, but this OST is something else. It has a feel to it only Daft Punk can give.. Properly awesome.

The film does look amazing. Even though I have work that evening, I shall be going to see it when it comes out (and then spend the night talking to people who don't care about it)..

IT WAS AWESOME.

If you like daft punk, cool suits, motorbikes, 3d awesomeness and Jeff Bridges and fit girls in cool glowing suits then go see it.

I am getting the daft punk soundtrack. They actually feature in the film dj'ing for a party.

EPIC WIN

Saw this yesterday in imax 3d.
The film was beautifully realised. The graphics for the grid was amazing, very good looking film. The special effects had really had a lot of time put into it.
The sound track and sound effects fitted brilliantly.
The action is pretty good although more would be appreciated. I especially liked the bikes.
The girls in their tron suits are pretty tasty.
The 3D wasn't the best I'd seen. As said, the majority of scenes were made into 3D as apposed to being filmed in it. The whole of the real world scenes were actually 2D (I took my glasses off for them). Saying that the inside the grid stuff did have a nice bit of depth to it.
Jeff bridges younger digital self was a bit annoying, at the beginning you see him in the real world young and it looks noticeably fake. However in the grid it fits quite well.
The story is pretty basic and at times slowed the film down a bit with very little return.

Overall I enjoyed it, but it must be looked at as purely an action film. Pretty, great sound track and fun to watch but don't expect much in terms of story.

i loved the original and was unfortunately VERY disappointed with this one Sad

the story was very shallow, the characters were bland and there was sweet fa of the 'old' system to pay homage to the original.

i was hoping flynns home would be some of the old style, black walls with red edging type thing but there was bugger all. even an old broken down tank would have been something.

too many pointless plot holes too. cant really say without spoilers but lets just say too many things were mentioned or you saw something only for it never to resurface again for the entire movie. just throw away lines.. worst scripting mistakes there.

the graphics were lovely, if a little odd at times (im sure the CG humans were better in beowulf) soundtrack was awesome and the girls looked great in their costumes, but other than that i was sorely disappointed Sad

felt like there was about 40mins of extra story missing. we needed to be endeared to sam more, see more of what happened to flynn, more about tron.. just more.. just plodded around, had a few chases and fight scenes, and then it just ended. Confused

to sum it up in one word it would be shallow.

Listened tot he soundtrack yesterday, it's basically 85% classical. Which i really liked but from what i've heard isn't what most people were expecting. I think a lot of the time in films the music isn't noticeable, its just there enhancing the images without you realising.

I really enjoyed it, although I agree; I was left wanting more. Girlfriend didn't enjoy it as much as I did but still was worth going to see. I haven't seen the original so maybe that was why I enjoyed it more than others. Thought the 3D was really well done. I liked how the 2D signalled the real world and the 3D signalled the grid.

Made me feel cool though, do electronic & computer engineering plus owning a degree Cool Laughing
