Managed to get my bike home today after it being stuck at the side of a main road for two days, haven't been out on the bike this evening but the pavements are definitely getting icy (black ice) Need to leave mine at around 6am tomorrow so I will be taking it very very easy.

Managed to keep shiny side up the other day, don't want to spoil the trend!

The rain arrived here on friday night and got rid of the snow. Its since been replaced with freezing fog and ice. Thankfully I only work weekends so dont need to take the bike out in the ice.

Going to risk it out. -2 last night and still below 0 now. Looks like ice about in places, should be alright on the main roads. Going to take it easy.

Hope to get out later this week. Main roads are not too bad if still a bit slippy, main problem is getting to the main road. All slush and ice depending on the temperature but usually takes forever to shift.

Was going to leave my bike off road for a bit until the temperature picked up. But managed to ruin the immobiliser on my car, so had to ride to work this morning. Absolutely terrifying. Hope to get the car fixed tonight.

The top of our road is one massive sheet of ice so I haven't even bothered to clear the driveway to get the bike out. Living on the side of a valley sucks when the roads don't get gritted and all the grit-boxes are empty.

Fuckety-fuck-fuck. Public transport for me then. Thumbs Down

Been able to get out every day. 124 mile round trip Mon-Sat last week. East Sussex was quite bad, especially Hastings. First time in nearly 20 years I thought I might not be able to ride because of the sheer depth of the snow. But the old RXS is immensely resilient and perfect for this kind of weather.

Ride home was even worse.... decided it's not worth the risk and I should put it away until the sunshine arrives. Almost dropped it putting it back in the garden, but performed a save on the ice that even Jesus would be proud of. Cool

I rode home in the snow Friday 26th Nov -2deg C, foolishly rode into work Monday 29th Nov -4deg C + freezing fog to collect my pay slip.

Decided to work from home Tue + Wed, went in on Thursday -7deg C and with heated waistcoat, insoles, and grips I was still feeling the cold, Friday worked from home again.

Daughter was ill yesterday so worked from home, today it was -8deg C + freezing fog @09:00 = working from home...

tbh I can't do it anymore, not since dropping it on the drive in the snow in February. I thought I could, but I just don't want to risk it, it's too far, too cold, and the bike's too heavy when I do drop it.

My boss is okay, and things look to be getting warmer from tomorrow onwards, hopefully the rest of the winter will be mild.
