Wow. Never ridden through this stuff before.. new experience had to keep scraping my visor as it would ice up every 10 seconds or so, my gloves had frozen ice on, as did my jacket. Was really odd. Made sure the engine was warmed up nicely to stop carb icing be careful out there guys. ____________________ A2 Passed 18/6/10 |

I get it regular going over the Pennines on the A66.
I have a set of wrap-around shades with clear lenses for just this reason. They get just as clagged up but you can still see because they are closer to your eyes. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. Had a similar visor problem riding in to work last night....
Luckily, the visibility most of the way was about 30 yards, so I just kept the speed down, and the visor up.
Had to defrost my fingers and my face when I got in to work, even tho' it's only a 20 minute ride ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

It's worse when you wear specs. You lift the visor when wiping it no longer does anything and your specs ice over as well. You end up riding with your specs on the end of your nose, following the tail lights of the vehicle in front because you can't see too well (if at all).
Yay for cars. |

I used to have one of those rubbery polyurethane jackets. Totally waterproof and they don’t absorb water at all. However that did mean that in damp, freezing conditions it could build up quite an impressive layer of ice. I arrived at work once after a ride through freezing fog, got off the bike and there was the sound of smashing glass as all this thick ice tumbled off my jacket. I didn’t even realise it had built up. ____________________ 2016 CBF1000F - Commuter heaven | 1994 CBR600FR - Awaiting defibrillation |

I came through some the other evening. I wondered why my already laughable candle headlight was getting even dimmer...and it was because there was a layer of ice covering it Nasty stuff, and pretty rare in the south too. ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |
