Any know of anywhere that cleans out tents?

Mine had mould/damp in it and living in a studio apartment i have no space to clean it.

I've seen a couple of places but they are like £240.

I've only got a simple semi-geodesic 2-man tent

Wonder if you can bung it through the washing machine?

it's just a bit.

it's £150 don't fancy binning it.

Nah washing machine would be ruined by the metal on the tent and detergent would ruin the waterproofing.

Nikwax do a tent wash and re-proofing soultion, which you can use by hand washing the tent in the bath tub.

What if you put it inside of those washing bags ?

Can't you seperate the inner and outer layers of the tent; I am assuming the mould is on the inside or personally I wouldn't bother about it.

How about tent in washing machine, in an old duvet cover using a delicate wash and a packet of that wash-in waterproofer stuff?

Or stick it in one at a coin-slot laundrette?

Do up all the zips/velcro.

Old duvet cover or pillow case for washing guy lines and anything flappy.

Soapflakes on a delicate wash.
Soapflakes won't have the kind of bleaching agents normal powder uses.

Then use a wash-in treatment and when dry spray some waterproofer on.

Ask for some TX-Direct for xmas, as only the wealthy can buy it for themselves.
