Gathering some ideas for a bike

First of all i gotta pass my test so im not in no rush

i need some suggestions for a 600cc sports

that i can pick up for roughly 4.5k

Nice GSXR 600 k1. Plenty about (which is good and bad), cheap enough to get an 02 for that kind of money.

For 4,5 k you can get alot.

One of my favourites, Susuki Gsxr k1 or maybey even k2, for that money.

A Honda cbr600 F4i sport

Yamahas R6

Kawasaki ZX6R ZX636R, not sure about the latter.

I'd grab a Gixxer6, or maybey the mighty Honda F4i Sport.

You can pretty much get any of the best, newer, 600cc sport bikes. Just depends what brand you want. Pick one up in the Winter when they will be cheaper, if you want...

Remember you need inurance as well. How old are you, btw?

I paid £4200 for my GSXR which is a K1 model, that was from a dealer with that restriction kit thing although I don't rate them as they have poor build quality. Wink

Do you really want to spend so much on your first big bike though? Confused

I agree with Laura on this though, could you actually respect 100bhp wave? If I was you I would go for a sports 400, I learned a lot riding my ZXR even though I didn't own it for that long.

If you are 17, as you're profile suggests (ie its not out of date), then dont go for a 600.

Get a sports 400 at most. At 17, people are stoopid, and a 600 is too much.

A 400 will be much faster than you 125, and it'll handle nice etc etc etc

At the end of the day wave you don't have that much riding experience and at 17 probably aren't mature or sensible enough to have 100bhp at your disposal on the roads, get a sports 400 and gain more riding experience from it, plus it will be a lot cheaper to insure for you.

You say you don't want it for the power but aren't willing to keep it restricted. Whats wrong with the looks of 400's anyway, ZXR400 L model is pretty and not to mention the RVF!

At your age if you had that much power whether you want to use it or not you would more than likely get your self into trouble, not to mention your license.

You say that now, but when you are riding it you will open the throttle up one day, and within seconds you will be going way too fast. Or the bike will flip over, or something.

Its happened to me, and im a sencible 19 year old, on a old sports 400... Not a new 100bhp+ sportbike.

You'll seriously regret spending £4.5k on your first big bike when you drop it/it gets you into trouble/it scares you.

Get a 400cc, if you want to be tarty then theres not much more trick than a RVF400. And 400's teach you a lot. 125 - 600 is a bit silly and you'll be scared of the 600.

Or at least get some rides on a 600 before buying one, but £4.5k is a lot of cash just to be tarty

We all dream wave, when I was still on my RS I dreamed of getting a 600 straight away but because I got through my test relatively quickly it just wasn't logical for me to go for a 600, I didn't have enough riding experience. Go for a 400, much more forgiving and won't send you straight past 100mph in 3rd gear. You can't thrash a 600 like you can a 125, it gets fast and quickly, something you need to build up to.

At the end of the day it is your choice what you get but you have been advised by the forum to go for something like a sports 400 just to get you used to a bit more speed as a step up, they are a lot of fun as well, really good through the corners.

As for people letting you have a go of their 600's don't count on it, I would never let some 17 year old chav have a go on my bike just because he has passed his test.

Hi

Don't go for a sports 600 until you have plenty of experience.

Get a 500 twin for a while, get used to having more power and then decide what you really want.
