Have noticed the exterior of the clutch cable on my RXS has split, so now need to obtain a new one.

Looking closer, it seems as though the split has occurred due to kinking resulting from the cable being routed incorrectly; it passes into a hole in left hand side of upper yoke (seems correct), the via the hook on the left hand side of the frame near the steering head - sharing this with throttle cables - onwards to the clutch.

Should the clutch cable on this machine be routed through the hook on right hand side of frame near steering head instead ? Looks as though curves would be much gentler, all the way through steering lock, running this way - though have not experimented yet with and actual cable. This hook is presently unoccupied; if this cable is not meant to run through is something else supposed to instead ?

Cheers

The clutch cable is supposed to be in the hook to the right of the frame. I've found in the past that it will often chafe in there and can interfere with the free movement of the steering head, so I usually have my cable running that way, but not actually engaged in the hook, if that makes sense.
