hi,
been offered a mz rt125, (2003, I think) which i think might make a decent sm thing,with a wee bit of work & its cheap.
Very Happy
anyone had one of these? whats considered high milage for them? & can you get parts easily enough?
(this one needs new clutch plates) Very Happy

The engine is supposed to be good for a 4 stroke.
However, if you want a supermoto style bike; seem to make sense to go for the MZ 125SM, which comes with the appropriate trail style frame with 17" 'Supermoto' wheels.

I've seen ones in ok nick going for £600 or so.

When I had a look at them, they seemed very well finished and put together wee motorcycles. MZ had a huge hangup about their reputation for reliability and build quality left over from the pre German reunification era and went to great lengths to make sure their bikes were up to scratch.

I had one of their 660cc street motos, The build quality and finish was superior to any Japanese bike I have owned (including my VFR).

One thing that might be an issue is the fact that MZ went bust (last year?) so check out the spares situation before you buy. BSA-Regal used to be the main importers for the UK.

i think paul (vmax dude/funkymonkee) from the scottish section had one when he was on his learners, as far as ive heard it was one of his favourite bikes
