Hi

It seems to run like a dog until the engine temp gets above 90 degrees.

History.....
Took the bike to a mechanic because it was running really rough. They said one of the coils was out as 3 exhaust pipes heated up from cold but one wasn't and they replaced the coil. The bike was alright over the weekend ridden in the middle of the day but...

Come Monday morning it was running rough all the way up the M3 and didn't start running correctly until it had sat in city traffic. The evening the same.

It seems to run like a dog until the engine temp gets above 90 degrees.

I hate replacing my bike bit by bit, until they find the cause; especially at my expense.

Can anyone Help?

sounds odd, given it a really good rev? i.e right round the rev range(when warmish, below 90 though)

I'm not 100% sure as posting for my OH probably 5K to 6K, based on the journeys and his normal riding style.

The bike isn't revved much over 5-6k?! give it a damn good rev round to just before the red line, can't imagine a bike sitting below 7k revs for it's life is going to be liking you much. You can do it in neutral, you don't have to break speed limits to do it(although it is fun Very Happy)

Well the obvious thought is the coolant temp sensor. I'd be 90% sure it was this if it wasn't for the one pipe not getting hot which does suggest a misfire on that particular cylinder.

could be the oygen snesor (if it has one) in the exahust is playing up?

Also could be a fueling issue as the bike will run leaner and leaner as the revs rise. I would change the fuel filter.

If that doesn't do it then take it to a Yamaha garage and get them to run diagnostics to see if anything comes up.
