Hey guys.

Was checking the pressure on my tyres today, and as I pulled the air pump's attachment out of the valve it caught and tore it a little.

Now, when i push the valve from the side you can see a slit, and air escapes.

I'm guessing it's just the valve that needs replacing. Would this be a standard part? (it's a suzuki GSXR 400) And if so, would most garages carry spares and be able to do it in one day? I need to ride sunday.

I'll ring the garage first thing in the morning but it'd be nice to have an idea so I can start sorting out what I'll do if it looks unlikely I can ride the bike sunday.

Cheers!

Changing a valve is a pretty easy job as far as I'm aware, they do it when changing the tyre sometimes so it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes I would have thought.

Pretty sure binge works in a tyre place, maybe he will pop in here and clarify in a bit.

I imagine they will need to remove the tyre and fit a new one. Should take 5-10mins and cost £10 roughly. (loose wheel)

They have loads of those valves as they use new ones when a new tyre is fitted.

If you ride in, probs £20+ to do it.

It'll be much easier/cheaper if you take the wheel off yourself. They don't need to take the tyre off completely, just let out the air and break the bead to give access to the valve. The local tyre place sold me a couple of valves for 50p last time I asked.

£6 to get one done on a car, can't see why it would be much more on a bike.
