Has anyone given thought to bikers who over the years have disabilities, I have only 30 per cent lung function. I can still sling my legs over a bike but obviously if I broke down I would have to call out breakdown to get me home. I have found it easier to ride a bike than drive a car, mainly because steering into tight corners requires less effort than my car. Is there anyone else out there who has the same as myself, or, agrees with me. Stu.

Certainly is a strange post, disabled people and lesbians/gays (any minority group) are a little like that though, before they've said hello they're talking about their speciality.

Not quite sure what you want us to agree on either, that it's easier to ride a bike with 30% lung capacity than to drive a car? Wouldn't know. If turning a steering wheel is really difficult makes you wonder about the safety of riding a bike, it's fairly involving and I would say quite tiring.

Covdude, I have asked myself, "Why does he have so many red blobs?" Now I know, you're a knob that posts like a ten year old. Congratulations on winning the cunt of the year, as well as dumbfuck of the year. You might want to read up on what spasticity involves before lobbing the insult around.

To the OP, I dunno mate. As a biker you're more vulnerable on the road anyway. If anything does happen you're in a worse position than someone fully able, especially in this weather. That's just another consideration to take into account with bikes.

I must agree with you there, i find my car quite relaxing to drive when compared to riding a bike. Where does turning into sharp corners come into it? That's why they invented power steering, stop being a tight cunt and buy a decent car Razz

I suffer from a bad back (well, still recovering from a broken back) and a bad (left) leg and i have no problems riding a bike or driving a car. Only issue i have is i can barely fit my left leg onto the peg on a sports bike (hence never owning one) but you don't see me whinging about it.

Tut Tut

This, as I have explained before, is not acceptable.
Being a bell-end for reaction, to get people to give you negative Karma, for no reason I understand.
Acting like a spoilt toddler, you make more people dislike you and it's generally 'unfair' on those targetted.

Many; the majority do.
Both that they don't like to be nasty to others and don't like seeing others doing that.

Please return to using a previous account and stop being so silly.

Nice - and very offensive - generalisation. Can also we agree that all transport drivers are socially inadequate and incapable of holding down a "proper" job? The strange post bit was right though.

Can we fuck Laughing

If the OP finds turning the wheel in a car a bit of a strain then there are cars out there with featherlight steering that he might want to consider, the FIAT punto MK2 and 3 have a 'City' button on the dash which makes the already pretty light steering feel like it's hardly connected.
This time of year especially I feel much more relaxed in the car, the last few times I took the bike out were not enjoyable...

Can we have some sort of IP ban for covdude/relentless/inept or whatever/whoever he is as banning his account only seems to deter him long enough to set up a new one.

Normally live and let live, but he has been banned to no effect, it kind of makes the banning/karma system redundant if it doesn't stop him.

Thoughts?

Thats made my Xmas. Laughing Best thing I've seen on BCF so far. Laughing

Back to the OP. Theres a dude down here rides a trike. He has a gammy leg and only has one arm. He has modified the bars into a tiller type thing to get around on.

The trike is a great big black home made "rat" style thing and he takes his family everywhere on the thing.

Theres another guy in the area who rides one of them spyder trikes. Nice to see that just because someone has a disability they dont let it stop them riding a bike. Thumbs Up

A chap I know has a Punto with the 'city' button. Every time he uses it I imagine his manhood disappears further over the horizon, hotly pursued by his self respect.

But they do mean steering is less of a struggle for those that really do need help as opposed to a very very lazy bearded man called Matt.

Yes, quite a bit actually, have a few biker mates who have all sorts of disabilities. But you probably wouldn't really know about them (unless they were obvious) like my mate's wooden leg, I wouldn't have known about it, had he not had to re-adjust it in my presence!!

And that only occurred because he'd ridden to mine (at the time, Southampton) from East London to help me work on mine. Thumbs Up

If you are interested in finding out more about disabled bikers you could always join NABD. Here's the link: https://www.nabd.org.uk/

They do a lot of things / events / rallies / fundraisers, to help disabled bikers. Adaptations for bikes, some have trikes made for them...there is so much info you can find out from these peeps.

Yes we can, although I won't get riled like you because it doesn't apply to me, although it is a generalisation which in my experience is largely true, just like the one I made Wink
