In fact, thinking about it, I miss my shitty little 'pitbike' I had. It was a 110 chinese thing. Heap of shit really.
I snapped the chain and the front brake snapped so I felt I had to sell it as it was beyond repair. Sold it for £82; bought it for £1000 (well bought for me).
Fuck me, £50 work and it would have been running again and I would be ripping it down the creek til the rozzers caught me again (long story) ____________________ Rusty '02 Vito Camper + CBR600F3 |

Yes. Financial problems meant I had to empty my garage of a 1963 AJS 350cc, a CB250RS, a CB400/4 cafe racer and a GPZ50R with a GPZ1000RX engine.
I miss the AJS the most. The 400/4 was a project that never really got off the ground, the 250 was a decent workhorse and the GPZ was my main daily ride.
I also miss my XJ900F, the BMW R100RT and the Bullet. I think I miss the GT550 the least. I bought it new, and I don't think I ever really loved it. Liked it, but not loved. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

I miss the CBR250 that was my first proper bike and it had a bit of magic about it, for whatever reason. At 17 it was the coolest thing ever.
If I had another one now, I would no doubt find it underpowered and probably uncomfortable. Though I still think it has a classic look about it, and have no interest in the looks of any modern equivalent sportsbike. That's not to say I wouldn't have one to ride
I miss the H100 because it was an incredibly simple little bike and fun to ride, but as proved, far too easy to steal. Now that I don't live in the town I doubt I would have the patience to ride it anywhere, as top speed was very low.
I would probably still have the tiger 955 if it hadn't snapped the chain and munched the engine. The most comfortable bike I have ever had, not much for going round corners rapidly, but if you just want to bang out 300 miles in one hit and still feel good at the other end you couldn't beat it.
Most of the rest have been kind of 'meh'. Though not sure if that has been me or the bikes.
The current CCM R30 definately gives me a kind of 'meh' even though I think it looks cool, and the idea on paper sounds cool.
But it doesn't do much well. ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

I miss the '83 XL125. Bazzin' little bike.
[Eaten too much cake]
When i changed the knobblies and the gearing, it took me to Sheffield and back many a time. Strap a can on the rack and play all day in a disused quarry that i found
The main reason i miss it was it taught me about control, and using my body to keep the bike stable(ish). Traction...looking ahead more..n stuff. I was just starting to learn this when i gave it back to my uncle and got the bland as bland Honda CG.
I've still got the CB250RSA and it's for keeps.

Batavas Go-Go pedal & pop moped. My first bike. I have absolutely no use for it, and the state I got it into it would be completely un-restorable, but hey, it was my first bike! Unceramoniousely dumped in a skip by my Uncle while I was on holiday with my Dad, as a teen-ager, during a garage clear-out!
A Vespa 90, I pulled out of a pile of scrap with no front end on it, and wanted to fix up. (aged 10!) Would be worth a fair bit now, and I though I still think that the perversity of the design is a cruel joke, I sort of am beginning to apreciate it... only taken me 30 years! aparently went in the same skip, during the same clear-out!
The BSA C15 that went skip-wise.... I dont 'miss', but I sort of gnash at, when I see Otta framed trials chops that actually work, and people pottering about on them with Boyer ignitions and Mikuni Carbs, and think, 'Oh, that would have been SO easy!" Had I hung on to it. Yup, same skip, same clear-out!
Though aparently before it went in the skip, my Grandad did stick it in the back of his Hilman Avenga estate and drive round to the then newly opened National Motorcycle Museum, just down the road, to see if they wanted it. Aparently they didn't!
The one I really regret is the Wire-Wheel RD250E I was given as a fixer-upper. It had been wildly tuned and ran on methanol, but only on one pot until it his 6K, then it took off like a banchee! Look at restored examples now, and think what it could have been turned into!I THINK this might be the only bike I have ever actually SOLD!
Got a DT50E in part ex for it, which was a bit of a laugh. When I stripped it down, the frame was cracked in about six places, and the exhaust was half copper plumbers pipe. sort of gives you an idea of the state of delapidation. Renovated it, age 16, for the road, going do-lally on tuning the engine with my Grandad, in a pique of interest in something a) not british, b) not four-stroke c) mine!
Went like stink, but unfortunately also went straight into the side of a blue Triumph Spitfire who decided to T-Bone me in classic SMIDSY, writing it off. Had hassle with the Insurance co, and eventually it went into a different skip, during a different garage clear-out. Though My Grandad kept the bottom end of the engine, suggesting he had an idea to use the gear-box for his lathe, as it would save him having to swap belts and re-tension the notor whenever he wanted to change speeds. After becoming the work-shop door-stop for a deacde, he stubbed his toe on it, and asked me when I was going to do something with that bloody engine. I reminded him of the lathe idea, he had no recollection what so ever, but then he had had three strokes in the mean-time!
AR125LC. The only vehicle I have ever owned from new. Bought it on tic, becouse I was too broke to afford anything second hand! It was stolen three times, and on the final attempt it came back in shattered fragments!
And that is ALL the bikes I have, in thirty odd years, ever parted with! Rest of them are all lying around some-where, in variying states of delapidation, or incompletion! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

My little ZXR400.
Sold it to someone through here, and when I checked on DVLA it's never been taxed since I sold it, so it was either smashed up or tracked, athough I doubt the latter to be honest.

Definitely got to be my Futura, it had a whole heap of character enhancing foibles and gremlins, it was a nightmare to keep clean with all the plastic, and woe upon ye if you broke anything on it. Trouble was it was immensely comfortable and planted yet nimble enough make you think you had a Millie tucked under the sofa when the going got twisty. Whilst it's not as smooth or reliable as the ZX9, it was a far nicer bike to ride.
Selling that thing was a huge mistake, I should have took note when I picked up a puncture on the way to the dealer to trade it in ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |
