Alright festive BCFers!

I have been given a budget of 80 quid from a relative to get a pair of winter gloves, must look decent... what's the best option? I was thinking along the lines of something Alpinestars. Must be warm and waterproof; I have RST gloves for the summer so these will be more winter used.

Cheers Karma

I have been looking at a pair of Spada Enforcers.

What you think?

There is a non high-viz option too but they don't have them on GetGeared any more.

add an extra £20 and get a pair of Gerbing G3 heated gloves. They are awesome. Waterproof, warm and comfortable.

Plain black leather, not as tarty as some, but defo worth it!

They are leather though. Despite having gore-tex inside, what happens when the leather gets all wet and soggy?

I have spada enforcers, cost me £53 and have been decent.

Crashed in them and they held up well. Finger tips do get cold but that is pretty much inevitable after a longer journey without heated grips/muffs etc.

The sizes are a bit weird so try them on first (L, XL and XXL all feel pretty much the same), they have them at South Wales Superbikes in Newport if you are ever around that way mate.

EDIT: Just noticed your comment above - you sir, lack taste Wink .

I also have the Enforcer's and recommend them Thumbs Up It's nice for a winter glove to have some armour on them for once, and it comes with a handy wiper blade on the left thumb.

The Held Freeze are rated to keep your hands warmer for longer. 60+ mins at 50mph 0c

On that note, why would you buy the Sparda Enforcer?

£40 cheaper, they have knuckle armour, they look better, there are places nearby to try them on, they were convenient at the time, the ratings count for nothing, the dog doesn't like chewing spada, the bike wont start if I look like I'm wearing cow fisting gloves...

What's your point?

I doubt HG will have them, they only seem to flog their own gear and the odd bit of A* and Arlen Ness.

Spada site lists these guys as a dealer in Plymouth:

J&S ACCESSORIES
62-65 FARADAY BUSINESS PARK, PRINCE ROCK
PLYMOUTH PL4 0ST

Tel: 01752 603428

I'd give them a ring before making the trip though. There is that just Bikers place on Exeter street in Plymouth too, they had a pretty crap selection last time I was there but still worth looking/calling.

if your looking for ultimate warmth, heated gloves are the way to go. But if you want the looks, then the G3s are quite plain.

They come with a harness, that wires into your bike. It has a jack socket that sort of hangs out the side somewhere. I wire the cables through the jacket so its not messy. So when you come to ride, justjack plug connect the gloves, then the main connector to the bike. takes all of 10 seconds. Brilliantly warm, even at motorway speeds.

Went to J&S not long ago and had a 5 minute look and I didnt see them. Mind you the mother was nagging me to 'just get the oil!' so meh.

And I haven't actually been in Just Bikers but it does look shit Laughing

May still be worth a look. Im going in town tomorrow anyway and I need to go J&S anyway so Ill have a proper look Mr. Green

I have two pairs of Spada wp gloves and they are good to about -4 for 20min before the numbness arrives at finger tips at around 50 mph, both have been great for waterproofness, although 45 min is the longest in the rain i have been in them , the older pair are a size larger so i could fit the silky inner gloves, but the newer pair i got of ebay in almost mint nick are a touch tighter but they feel heavier in the leather, overall great gloves i think for the money, i even have a pair of rift summer gloves for the odd day its hot lol.
