Anyone eaten one? What's it like? Flavour, etc? Hottest I've gone is a Vindaloo, which I quite enjoyed, and I see there are a lot of chilli lovers here, so any insights would be great!

It is pretty damn potent. I eat stuff like chips/fries and dip them in blairs after death sauce etc.. so i guess I enjoy the hotter stuff, definitely try one, but if a vindaloo makes you want to stop.. i wouldnt recommend it Laughing

I know there are some chilli freaks on here so i'd like some advice. I've bought said friend a christmas present:

https://www.sammcgees.com/img/1359ZN/z-nothing-beyond-hot-sauce_1_std.jpg

I found a video of 2 nutters reviewing it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK1Sz6WMY_E

Should i just get him to try a drop on the tongue, or should i try and push for a spoon full? Is that mean?

Those 2 guys in the video are quite funny. They try a really mental one in this vid:

Ted's expression when the other guy goes for the second spoon full is epic Laughing

i havent but id like to. its one of those things that id love to try but if i dont like it i dont want to have wasted my money.

cant see id have any problems with it from a heat pov, i can handle quite a bit.

my usual curry is a bemisal (translation: beyond compare) its like a chilli based vindaloo masala type dish. that or a chilli chicken masala.

vindaloo's are easily eaten but im not a fan of the tomato and onion sauce so i rarely have that. my friends who have tried some of my chilli currys in the past have gone back to their vindaloo and moaned its not hot anymore so they're definately hotter than a vindaloo.

actually been warned by my local takeaway before 'thats a very hot one sir' and given 'last rights' before being served some silly hot jalfrazi dish at my local curryhouse' lol.. so yeh, doubt the heat would bother me but im more concerned with the flavour. i dont like blind heat, fresh chilli its gotta be, none of this powered crap. i like the chilli taste not just the heat.

need to just go and try one some day, sure i'll like it. Smile

Flavour?? There is no flavour...it's so hot your tongue can't detect any flavour...it's a pointless curry if you ask me. What's the point if you can't taste the spices and the food its cooked with. Rolling Eyes

thats down to personal tastes though isnt it (or at least what heat people can handle)

my dad happily eats a madras and likes it but thinks my bemisals are just pure heat and way too hot for him. to me i taste the flavour just fine.

actually just looked up a few receipes and it sounds fine..

https://www.food.com/recipe/phall-the-hottest-curry-of-all-61187

heats gonna mainly be from the garlic, ginger and all those chilli's. but like i said before, as long as its fresh chilli im happy, its load of chilli power i dont like as it has no flavour, just the heat.

dont get me wrong, the idea if putting 12 fresh chilli's in a dish sounds insane, but overall it does sound pretty tasty, heh

might even make myself one. chicken phall.. not very christmassy though Very Happy

my favourite curry is a madras, a fairly hot one but i like the tomato flavour of it. especially from a good curry house. im not into mind boggling heat it ruins the dish for me, enough to make me pant a little will suffice.
